hey guys i went and did a DECC test at campelltown and the guy told me i have to remove my intercooler or put in a stock 1 if i dont want to go to dyno it at epa...just wondering are they easy to remove and change

and if anyone has a spare 1 lying around i can purchase or know wheree i can get 1 for relatively cheap.

also with no rego, is there any way of getting it fitted if i can't just do a home job.

also my stock snorkel doesn't fit now because the intercooler piping is there, wondering if any1 has made something that can go around this or like be bent and fits onto the system well

thanks

ahh i see

hey guys, the guys from campelltown that did the noise and antitampering test on me haven't followed up at all.

just wondering

because if u fail to meeet requirements in time...you get your rego cancelled right

does that still affect me if my rego is already cancelled?

If there is a pipe in the way of the stock air box snorkle, that pipe won't be used for the stock side mount. So chances are to put a stock cooler back on you might need to take off your front mount piping.

Other than that, taking off/putting on the stock side mount intercooler is really easy. I found that taking the front bar and front passenger wheel off gave me heaps of room to do it, but I don't think its necessary. I have some pictures that show where its located.

Picture isn't too good because of the glare, but its pretty much under the passenger side headlight.

From the rear.

I think your biggest problem might be finding out that your front mount was installed in such a way that the reinfocement for the front car has been cut to accomodate said FMIC, and slapping a SMIC in there will make this very obvious. Though it all depends on your setup.

hey matt i havent asked, how did you stuff up your front end?????

I'm not going to go into the finer details on a public forum on what happened that night but it was a combination of McCarrs Creek Road, a concrete block and stopping rather suddenly.

Broke my front passenger side rim, passenger side tie rod end, passenger side castor rod, front passenger side lower control arm, front bar and side mount intercooler. So far the total cost to me has been $2522 and about a weekend and a half of my time, and my front bar is yet to be painted (I got a second hand one)

I have come to realise that if anything one should not skimp on tyres and brakes. My tyres and brakes where fine when this happened, but if they had not been the damage would have been multiplied significantly.
