Help

i got all teh speedflow fitting thats all taken care of

i got a fuel leak where the injector sits on to the oring

u know with the std rail how it goes all the way over the rail

the hks one just sits on top of the oring and it looks like when u tighten up the rail that the fuel squezes under the oring down through the collar and out the bottom

sard 650cc injector set for neo with collar on top by oring

any help would be awesome as i need to be able to go to work next week

Pics would be handy at this stage. Something doesn't sound right about the injectors.

The fuel rail should bolt up fine (that's what the spacers are for) but injectors have different sized tops.

Just like a GTR the standard rail uses 10.5mm injector tops but when upgrading most use 11.0mm tops so you need the aftermarket rail.

If you have sard injectors to suit NEO you probably need injectors to suit RB26 with 11.0mm top 680cc instead. The top of standard NEO injectors is larger then the HKS rail. It's made for the HKS injector.

If you are in Slacks Creek area let me know and I'll see what I can do. I have the HKS injectors to suit that rail.

Cheers

Marty

thanks for the reply martin

to my understanding the hks rail is for stock injectors

my sards fited in the std fuel rail i would presume that it would be fine

ime in capalaba

i am on holidays at eh moement so ime pretty flexable with time except tomorow friday

ive been down and got some new orings

cause only some of them leak

ime thinking there might be a spacing issue as well

as the sard injectors have bolt spacers with a collor on the fuel rail end of the injector

and the hks rail has collars for the inlet manifold

any help appricated

and where are u in slacks marty

it looks like the fuel rail spacers are too big

messing around with orings and colloras doesnt seem to be the answer as i need something inbetween

it apares that the spacersa about 2-3 mm too big where as the collars are about 6mm

who can make me up some spacers for the fuel rail in brisbane

This is the HKS upgrade injector to suit the HKS rail.

They are completely different to the standard injector. I think if you bought these for the rail you wouldn't have any problems. You must have the wrong injectors for the rail upgrade.

Agreed ^^ i have done this mod before as customer had suplied me a HKS rail supposedly for GTT (bought from reputable internet supplier) but he had already had BLITZ injectors fitted to suit std rail... those injectors are the same as the first set of HKS injectors martin posted (99% of jap injectors are the same factory so brand is irrelevant). The rail was designed for the gtr type injectors so i had to swap his BLITZ GTT ones out for some BLITZ GTR one i had laying around and wire up some resistors (he REALLY wanted the wrong rail fitted, would have been cheaper to source the correct one to start with ;) ).

I know you say you have sard injectors, posting some pics would instanly clarify the issue you have..... 0.5mm is hard to see by eye but would make that 0.5mm o-ring hole will world of differrence in installed height as the two kits have differrent height pedestals as martin mentioned.

but in the bag it had the part number for direct bolt on for std injectors

so my quam is my sards fitted finein stcok rail and worked

so the sards designed for stock rail should fit into the hks rail designed to take stock injectors

my problem now is getting the spacer the right length

i dont think the answer relys on using the manifold collar

i will take the spacer down to machine shop and get them to machine 3mm off it

then go from there

did i mention not all injectors were having issues

i have now replaced orings

Wrong. The HKS Rail for R34 NEO is not for standard or standard-style injectors. It is for the injectors I pictured above. I suggest you change injectors to the correct type or use your standard rail to fix the problem.

60psi of fuel pressure and a bad fitting o-ring is an accident waiting to happen.

ive made this work

seems the error in my ways was to try and get the oring on the top side of the injector to seal flat with the rail

what was happening was that when i tightened up the bolts thinking that it wants to be tight cause that oring is sealing in the fuel the o ring would squish

thus letting fuel pass between the oring and the injector centre and the sards have a collar to make them fit std rail on top of injector.

not the fuel was squeezing past the collar and squirting out the bottom

solution

the rails dont seal on the leading edge one very expensive trip to autobahn

got me a new solution

smaller top oring

as if u look at the pic from martin

and i got the rubber spaces as on the denso injector

now the injector slides very tightly up in to the fuel rail

this is how its is ment to be

there would of been no chance of achiveing this with the collar in place

now the oring seals properly casue it is been squeezed in rather than down

now

all i need to sort out is spacers as the suplied ones for the gtt

are way too long

so off to bolt king

purchased 2 500 button head 8mm thred bolts

4 matching nuts

now i used the alloy spacers suplied with the sard injectors

there about 10 mm thick 4 of them

used the spacer as a washer

and used the bolts and nuts to space out the fuel rail monuts

little dicking around to get it square

presto

all in

did a prim test and no leaks

thanks for all the replys

^^ how much power you making? i found the std rail good for mid 300's.... it was all the stupid little restrictors (same as GTR boost restrictor) and dampers in the fatctory fuel lines that cause the restrictions.
