Our R33 N1 still has the AC control unit, just no AC pump. And as Beer Baron said, you can option stuff back on, our N1 had the radio optioned back on for some reason.

Ok guys i just asked the guy for the VIN....and im not sure if this is a common thing with Dealers but this is the response i got:

"Just wondering why, thats all, no one has asked us before in 10 years of doing this.

Have no dramas in you checking it if you are keen to come and have a look at the car and go further, but for a number of reasons, as I am sure you can appreciate, we keep all information pertaining to the cars in confidence until we are further down the track with a sale. I can assure you that the car is genuine in terms of being a Nismo, as we invite any independent mechanical inspection on the car in our premises.

There is no other "history" that you could research anyway in regards to the car apart from that anyway.

Re title etc,as a dealer we guarantee clear title, so that isnt an issue.

Not being difficult but i am sure that you understand.

Let me know if you have any further questions and perhaps we can arrange a time to inspect the vehicle."

Should i just make the effort and go get it? I mean i understand privacy laws etc in regards to vehicle details. So i don't know wether that has something to do with it.

:-)

I've contacted a dealer in QLD re a 94 V-spec II with a whole list of questions and pretty much got the same.

Problem though is that the fact that they're not willing to answer certain questions, immediately rings alarm bells for me.

Basically i got no response to questions such as, is there any rust on the car, and are there any marks on the interior!

:D Privacy laws.

He is a car salesman & is doing his job by getting you to come to the yard & talk to him about buying the car. If you want to buy it you have to do so anyway. So just go & see & write the number down.

Thats what i thought. I mite have to go down and have a look

Don't get confused with Nismo and N1 Editions.

NISMO,

The Skyline GT-R 'Nismo', introduced in February 22, 1990, has a total production of 560 units as required for the "Evolution" models regulation (over 500). Its purpose is to homologate a number of aerodynamic changes used in Group A racing.

Changes include additional ducts in the front bumper to improve airflow to the intercooler, a bonnet lip spoiler to direct more air into the engine bay, and an additional boot lip spoiler to provide more downforce. The 'Nismo' GT-R was only available in Gunmetal Grey.

N1,

The Skyline GT-R 'N1' model, introduced on July 19, 1991, was designed for home-market N1 racing with a total of 228 units produced.

The most notable change was in the engine, which was upgraded to the R32-N1 specification.

The car was also lightened by the removal of the ABS, air conditioning, sound system, rear wiper, trunk carpet, and the use of light-weight headlights.

No color options were available and all 'N1' cars were delivered with a thin layer of Crystal White paint.

I read a bit on - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyline_gtr

If it is a Nismo Edition, the main difference is that it has the Nismo Body kit, side skirts with the rear Spat as what sav man is trying to say. Engine, drivetrain etc its pretty much the same as a normal R32 GTR.

Do what djr81 said by getting the Build / Vin numbers when you go down and have a look at the car.

BTW the pictures you took of the car,

1. Its white (N1, maybe)

2. There is no spats on the side skirts but its got the intercooler ducts, bonnet lip spoiler and boot lip spoiler. (Nismo but not complete)

3. Its got a CD Player and Aircond (So just a normal R32 GTR)

4. No rear wiper + no rear wiper contol switch (Signs point to N1)

All speculations but it does not really all add up to make it either a NISMO or N1.

Again get the Build / Vin Numbers to be sure. Cool!

Well i fasted the vin no. and this is what i got:

6U9000BNR32220816 Vin no.

KBNR32RXFSZN Model

Augest 1992 Made

326 Paint Code (Crystal White)

Seems like a regular R32 GTR hope this helps

The KBNR sequence identifies it as an N1 version.

So it is NOT a common or garden variety R32 GT-R.

I think your right, if its got ZN then its indicated as a N1.

Damn!

Black Widow might be getting a really good deal.

if thats the chassis number with a ZN definately is an N1.

If you are looking to buy a clean R32 GTR you should check this out in person, if the car itself is in good condition it would be worth buying over a normal R32GTR as it will hold value much better.

awesome find.

:P

Guys,

Does anyone know if this statement is true?

"The N1 engine is identified by its 24U number stamped on the block, as opposed to the 05U stamp on standard RB26DETT engines".

If so, where is this number found?

Cheers

Is that a Wikipedia sorce, LOL!

I read the same thing so could right.

I would not base all the facts from that website as solid evidance.

I guess it gives an idea and ppl talk about it and could be true but be open for other opinions.

    • AFM looks to be a z32 The injectors maybe old Nismo 555cc The turbo tag when looked up seems to be a gt2871 , imagine it would have the bigger rear housing .82 all look like the mid 00's mods when he started building it up. Vac hose seems right but would need to see a diagram. Great work going up there and sorting it out, be a good club car for someone wanting a good reliable rig.  I know I would like to have it but no space and too many other race cars at the moment.
    • Heys guys I got a r32 gtst speedo is out by 10kph seems the faster I go the more it be out  just seeing if anyone else had to problem and knows how to fix it
    • I can't agree. If we hadn't all been brought up with the noise caused by the inefficiency of an ICE, no-one would actually ask for all that. An EV is like any other car, it just goes better.
    • 2 more things I have to work out Easy one first...can anyone describe how to pull the fuel pump and sender from a 33? I can feel there is some sort of mount and clips but don't have a manual and don't know the trick......if not I'll spend some quality time in the boot witha lighter tomorrow. Second question is harder.  He had changed the upper plenum to a plazmaman but clearly got to a point with the vacuum hoses where he said "f**k it, I'm going inside for a beer" and never came back to that job because it was a mess. Am I right to think that I need: 1. Pre throttle (16mm nipple on inlet) to AAC's main 20mm fitting as the main pre throttle feed 2. ACC has a second 13m outlet joined to that 20mm fitting which I think is the pre throttle air supply for the cold start valve? 3. Cold start valve's outlet fitting then goes to Plenum (to bypass throttle?) There is some adapter on the back of the ACC with 2 fittings (13mm and 10mm), do I run the 10mm through a 1 way valve to the Brake Booster (4) and the 13mm back to a 13mm nipple on the Plenum as the Idle control (5)? 6. Run a 6mm vacuum line from the Turbosmart BOV to the Plenum? 7. Run a 5mm vacuum line from the Fuel Pressure Reg to the Plenum? 8. Run a 5mm vacuum line from the Turbosmart Boost controller to the Plenum? (Wastegate already has a pre turbo pressure source running to the solenoid then the wastegate on the other side of the bay)  Any help appreciated, the GTR is quite different setup and while the Stagea also has FFP it is different again. (And no Dose, I'm not pissing it all off and putting a ethrottle on it....)
    • OK, onto some questions to try and speed up the process a little. Does anyone know what core this Garret is? I know it is a high flowed standard turbo but nothing else about it. Tag says OK 0169J - 446179-5032 Same question for the injectors, I don't know what they flow and ideally can work it out before it hits the dyno, they are a mustard yellow side feed
