has anyone ever had engine oil break down so its as thin a water

we had a customers car come in for a service afta 60000km and 2 yrs lol it wasnt thin but was all thick and burnt lol

LOL I had a similar scenario about a month ago though the car was in for a 20,000 though it was on 136,000 and also 2 years later, though the oil was quite thin, but I would not say water thin.

Still had the original sticker to be serviced at 20,000 on it. But that isn't to say it wasn't done by someone else.

As far as the engine oil breaking down to be as thin as water. The viscosity will break down in the oil the more use it gets but to what extent I cannot say.

old oil is usually thicker then it was when it was new, it doesnt really go thinner.

needs to be 'watered down' to get thin. As said, old oil normally gets thicker and blacker.

Check for water/petrol in the oil.

That's never happened to me before when it wasn't the above.

oil was only in the car for 50km it was 15w50 oil doesn t smell like petrol nor is it milky we have sent a same to get tested to see what has gone wrong

your telling me the worse thing is the engine needs to be rebuild but the oil company said they will pay for it if the test show the oil has thined out

most companies do supply warrenty a friend of mine was tellin me that i oil filter split in half and the driver didnt no lol and his motor siezed up so ryco i think it was paid for a new motor/ rebuild and labour.

my supra had its oil changed after 5000kms and it was watery as shit

tuner said 2jz just break down the oil faster then rbs
