Taking out NAV system

Just wanting to know if when you're removing the Pioneer Carrozerria nav system, do you need to rip out all the carpet? I've taken all the system out of the boot and pulled the cords through to the back seat and disconnected the box. There are obviously cords running through to the head unit, but I need to know if these are just pulled through once head unit is taken out, or if I need to take the console out and what not.

For me personally, I never like to simply yank on cords. I always pull carpet up and feed them through carefully.
