when i first got my car i blocked off my valve and was running sweet for about 3 months, then i changed over my spark plugs then it started to stall sometimes and sometimes when the revs dropped from really high to idle. I just made it out to be a tuning issue but when i put new turbo and engine mods on and it stalls without fail every time if you don't keep fairly high revs. The guys that are tuning it are telling me that i can't block of my blow off and that i have to run it in order to stop the problem, but i don't want to do that. Pretty much everyone i know with a turbo has blocked theirs off, just wondering what could be causing mine to stall when i block mine?? i got an rb25 by the way.

ahahah classic thread with great responses.

The hektic flutterz is awesome bro i just had to get a new turbo cause my old one died mysteriously...wonder what could have done that.

hhhmmm i wonder why they put a bov on from factory??!!? :P

This has been posted plenty of times - you should search the forums before posting.

Your car has an AFM. Your tuner was correct in stating that you can't do it if you want to stop the problem. Once the air has been read through the AFM and you release the throttle thereby closing the butterfly, the air returns down the intake pipe trying to find the BOV and recirculate. That is what it should do standard.

But you have blocked the BOV so the air goes back out the turbo the wrong way (or at least attempt to) and you get a stiffy as you flutter past teh laideeez and bro's (probably just the bro's) at maccas.

Problem is, your ECU has read the air going into the motor, but it hasn't and it dumps fuel in to keep the AFR correct. Thus flooding your motor with fuel and stalling.

There are numerous way's to get teh flutters without stalling, smartest one being geting a new ECU that runs a MAP sensor instead of an AFM. But since you probably wont...........you deserve the crap that you already have and will continue to get on this subject.

Good Day Sir!

Agreed, Air Flow Meter (AFM) is reading plenty of air going into the motor, adds fuel to mix, none of that air is making it to the motor, floods the motor...

How is your fuel consumption?

Sorry for the attacks, but it happens every time... you should have a done a search :P

Hope this does help.
