dangerman4
how bout we do a a sau group buy on a G size bottle of nos. we could run a half inch hose unregulated into steves car, and as a bonus everyone else wanting to join the 300 club can have a crack. whatsisname
Just buy a heap of G size bottles... and while the import cars are running, open all the bottles into the dyno cell - extra power and a nice relaxed and cheerful mood for everyone It might cause a fire, but that just makes it easier to cook the BBQ food. PIMPED_jzx100
Ken/PIMPED, 400rwkw using 550cc Sard injectors... that's what i call pushing the limit! I'm going to do my best to make it to this dyno day, as it sounds really interesting. It'll also be interesting to do a rough comparison (power curve, peak values, turbo response etc.) with my own dyno runs on Shaun's dyno - there's about 90+ of them saved on the thing ha-ha. I might even have the tuning finished by then and could try and help bolster the import figures - I 'may' be able to offer low 300's at the rears - best of 302rwkw so far. It might squeeze out 315-320ish once the cams are set-up and a few more pounds wound in. What we - the import team - really needs is for Darren's R31 to be up and running - 550rwkw would help push the total up nicely. yeah im abit worried bout that atm, going to 1000cc soon, but i hope the 550cc will hold out for 400, fingers crossed anyway, but it makes 300 with easy, fuel is running really rich atm, was told rich enough to get almost 400rwkws with but i would be pushing it, i dunno, ill get it on the dyno and see what we can do, and the remap of the 32 ecu is wicked, better then my power fc in my old 33 Edited October 30, 2008 by PIMPED_jzx100 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/230948-domestic-vs-import-dyno-day/page/5/#findComment-4228632 Share on other sites
whatsisname
Nitrous oxide is not flammable. Correct. Oxygen is nonflammable too. However, what these gases are very good at is supporting explosive combustion, all they need is an ignition source and a saturated concentration - think dyno cell full of G size bottles opened fully and then add a red hot manifold. I'll be the one standing over the road Next time you're at the drags and you see someone purge their nitrous system, don't stick your head near the stream of purged N20 smoking a cigar... unless you want to look like Micheal Jackson Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/230948-domestic-vs-import-dyno-day/page/5/#findComment-4229307 Share on other sites

To safely support a genuine 400rwkw you are going to to be pushing well beyond the safe level for 550cc injectors. I wouldn't risk it. Wait till you get the 1000's in. Krishy
just grab some NOS and spray it into the intercooler MRVLT style. hahah yeah that was the funniest thing to see on the autosalon dyno they could have just used fire extinguisher it would have done the same job lol even funnier the power figures didnt really improve though lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/230948-domestic-vs-import-dyno-day/page/5/#findComment-4230209 Share on other sites
whatsisname
hahah yeah that was the funniest thing to see on the autosalon dynothey could have just used fire extinguisher it would have done the same job lol even funnier the power figures didnt really improve though lol Using LOX (liquid oxygen) would 'kind of' work nicely at externally snap cooling the intercooler I can't recall the exact LOX temp off the top of my head (- a few hundred 'c) cryogenic freezing temp's that's for sure. It also has an expansion rate of 600ish to 1, as in 1L of LOX = 600L of gaseous oxygen. So watchout when it reaches a source of ignition! Great for speeding up the BBQ cooking times, it'll cook snags in microseconds, then melt the BBQ and burn a nice hole in the ground under it Anyway, back to the dyno day conversation. Any info' on the domestic entries? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/230948-domestic-vs-import-dyno-day/page/5/#findComment-4230337 Share on other sites

PIMPED_jzx100
hey buddy who did u get to remap your 32 ecu?? jeff at turbotune, did a good job, isnt cheap for most people though, lol, also i wont be boosting her up anymore, keep her at 300rwkws, 550s wont hold out, it will lean out to much, 20 psi is pushing it with them, so 16 psi will have to do, will still be in the 300rwkw club though, if there is such a thing? lol, hope to see u all there Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/230948-domestic-vs-import-dyno-day/page/5/#findComment-4232314 Share on other sites

Get those bigger squirters in there first, then you can crank up the boost safe in the knowledge the fuel system can support it. We are both at a similar point actually, as I'm just about to upgrade to a new set of 780cc injectors in my 33 - my 550's are no longer up to the task... especially for E85. nos man
so urhhhhh what are you going to be doing with the 550cc injector? whatsisname
so urhhhhh what are you going to be doing with the 550cc injector? Ha-ha, yep, I'll be selling them. However, one potential problem. I have a custom top-feed fuel rail, which means my 550's won't suit the OEM RB25DET rail.
