$20k sounds a little cheap... that shopping list (assuming all new) would make up the bulk of $20k, not leaving much for labour. Having just finished my own build (very similar), I can tell you it's no "easy" conversion - takes up a lot of hours, n a lot of custom work.

Initial estimates on my own build was around the $20K mark, and I don't pay for normal labour (only specialist stuff) :)

no way near close guys. All parts are brand new and drive in drive out. Its the engineering and labour thats a killer. No bullshit just on the engine mods plus clutch is $63k.

i had the chance of going for a "cheaper" build. That was one of the options presented to me at the start. But at the end of the day i chose an engine of the highest standards. Im the type that does something one and once only. So i make sure that its done right the first time. Go for broke or go home

$63K?

How much of this is in parts and how much of it is in labour if you don't mind me asking?

I'm not debating it, I believe it... just want to figure out how much I saved by doing the labour ourselves. Also helps that I got all my parts at very cheap prices.

Assume 20K in parts; leaves 43K in labour... that's about 400hrs in normal mechanical terms (all inclusive). Provided they did EVERYTHING (remove engine, build engine, refit engine, and all the other custom work on it) - yeah, I'd believe it.

WOOT~ makes me feel great, saved myself about $40k

And yes, had I actually had to pay for labour - the GTT would be scrap metal now and there'd be a GTR there instead.

i hope when i get around to speaking to the boys at top racing i can find something a bit cheaper then that.. or it could be 2020 before i get my 26/30

But remember it can be done at a far cheaper price. All depends on how far you wana go and what parts you use. There was ALOT more parts needed not includede on my list which is over $20k. I will wait until finall invoice for more accurate sum but labour is roughly $13k.

Is your avatar and all that implies paying? :laughing-smiley-014:

still doesn't completely shut...so we using bonnets pins to secure it. Had to cut along the vents and file a part down at the back. I got it painted same colour as car and covering up vents with mesh so should look mint.
