I dont have a pic of mine on this work pc, but ive got a completely custom made r33 front bar and when i went to last years autosalon i was nervous about driving all that way on a brand newly painted bar getting stone chips before showing it off, so I researched shipping = $4 - 500 each way plus flights to get up there = well over 1 grand ;)

About $450 (i think/recall) custom made fitted perfectly got to enjoy driving my baby the whole way with no worries :teehee:

they measure for all cars, you drop it off, go for a walk bunnings is just around the corner, enjoy a snag, walk back and in a few days or later that week they'll call you and say it's ready to be picked up.

Can any of you help me with advice on these, please.

I live in the UK and am considering buying a carbra for an R34 GTR to use on track, to protect the front end from severe stone chips. After owning an R33 for 6 years I've had the front end resprayed 3 times!! As you might expect UK dealers don;t do them and as they are not as popular over here, none are prepared to sutom make one, so I need to buy one from Australia.

I'm concerned I don't waste money on a carbar (+ shipping etc) so questions I have are:

  • Is the fit of a "standard" carbra really tight and neat?
  • How long does it take to fit/remove (I'll want to open the bonnet to allow cooling in between sessions)?
  • Are these normally designed to allow airflow to intercoolers & front splitter/spoiler ducts
  • Anyone used one above 192 kmh (120 mph) and if so are they still stable?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

p.s. If anyone has pictures of one fitted to a GTR I would really like to see the fit.

I had a chance to use mine on the weekend for a SAUVIC cruise we had and i thought it would look a bit silly but i'm glad i chucked it on.

1. only takes 1-2 minutes on and 20 seconds to take off.

2. it is really tight, so much so that as its been so long since i used it the indicator lights didn't line up perfectly, i might need to readjust the strap or something.

3. airflow is not a problem, massive flynet style fronts where all the bugs hit and their red and green innards end up on your front bar but no hard shells LOL

4. it was fine for me all day, not quite 190km/h but not far from it :(

Hey guys,

One thing to keep in mind, is that the you need to make sure your point is very very clean before putting it on, and the same goes for the bra itself.

Small specs of dirt, and do massive damage under the bra. A mate had one for his XR8 and used it on trips to Sydney from Melbourne. It definitely works, but really had to make sure it and the car were spotless before he used it.

Once or twice he was in a rush and couldn't do this, and it left a fair few marks on his bonnet. Not sure if it was the heat or the bra moving around a bit, but after that, he's refused to use one again.
