this is a old idea, and easy to get passed if you have the know how. to get passed it in most cases take's a part that cost less then a dollar if you know how to do it. and transponder ones can be bypssed as well.

OEM factory has no clue how to stop car theft. they run about 10 years behind the curve which is why most car insurance companies want you to buy a better alarm then factory .

hey there i'm interested in getting one of these - anyone have any more info on it? what's it called? is there anyone in the ACT who can install one? (or failing that - NSW?)

i agree with some of the previous posts - i'm so over car thieves

thanks

All car alarms sold in SA have to have Antihijack feature for insurances reasons, the main supplier of vehicles security products in both after market and on the OE level has always been Autowatch owned by parent company PFK Electronics. They have dedicated stand alone Antihijack modules as well as having the feature built in to most of their car alarms.

thieves are scum of the earth, if your reading this and your a thief go jump off a bridge and die you farken moron, go get a job and stop taking shit off other people coz your too lazy to get a job like everyone else.

gas will be useless if they smash a window to get in

the use strong gas like nitromethane gas (forgot what its called :whistling: ) but basically it will stop your lungs and hart and really hurt ur eyes. i accidentally inhaled some when tuning my RC car and lets say it wasn't pleasant. safety warning RC cars are f**king dangers

Did the AVS 5 star alarm system come with boot protection, the one iv got is about 3 years old and it doesn't have the boot protection thing like the new ones out. I think my installer might have been a lazy f*ker of just forgot to put it in and I've only just looked into now

  • 1 month later...

Put a crook lock across your pedals. Surprise motherf$#%$# !

The only way to get it off is to cut it or mangle the pedals.

To cut it you'll have to be on your knees outside the car which is obvious you're stealing it, not to mention the pedals will move around while pressure is applied slowing cutting.

Plus the brake lights will be flickering attracting attention.

    • My muffler was fully customised to suit the car. He mailed me the end caps, I marked up the pipe locations (4 pipes in a single muffler) and he sent it back all welded. Certainly more expensive than a mass produced generic size, but that's hardly surprising. My R32 Exhaust has a Magnaflow muffler in it, if I need generic mufflers then they're usually a safe bet. I've got the Vibrant clamps on the intercooler pipes, just because they're nicer to use than the bolt together ones and not as expensive as a real Wiggins clamp.
    • Yeah. Nah. A grain of sand will take out a ceramic turbine that is doing 100000rpm.
    • Yes, it was checked with the roller rockers installed using a LS7 lifter that had been converted to a solid lifter with a dummy spring at 0 lash with a stock length pushrod. With the Johnson lifters longer pushrods were needed which are now 7.700" and 110 wall. Long thiccbois. People much more knowledgeable than I am are doing the measuring!
    • Well... New things have arrived... And now I need to really dig into the design of the power steering reservoir.
    • Interesting. I had that issue on my old car. After a rocker arm broke, the electrode must have been hit or something, though the cylinder didn't look like it was damaged when I put a scope down there, might have been the turbine but hard to imagine that a small piece of metal damage the turbine by that much. Seems like it's not even big enough to do the damage most of it.
