As above, im after some thicker shims for my 32 GTR diff; in search of a quick inexpensive fix to get some better lock.

Nissan dont know what they are, their database shows the exploded diff assy with these spacers missing!

In the service manual they are clearly shown, and I had 2 in my hand when i pulled the thing to bits.

I called Award Gearbox and Diff as suggested, but some woman was only interested in selling me friction plates!

Has anyone done or sourced some thicker spacers before?

Please help!...I can see my car up on stands for ages and diff bits everywhere if I dont find some....

Info / part numbers would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Mat.

ps please dont move mods, no-one ever looks in drivetrain section!

0.80mm = 3842440f60 price = $10.12

0.85mm = 3842440f62 price = $14.67

0.90mm = 3842440f63 price = $9.97

1.01mm = 3842440f67 price = $9.79

1.05mm = 3842440f68 price = $14.40

1.10mm = 3842440f70 price = $6.37

1.20mm = 3842440f73 price = $6.37

1.30mm = 3842440f76 price = $10.89

1.40mm = 3842440f80 price = $6.37

1.49mm = 3842440f83 price = $6.37

Shim size = part number = cost (trade price)

Straight out of the tutorial on diff shimming in the DIY section, found here.

I bought two 1.2mm shims from McGrath Sutherland. $7.55 a piece, took them one day to get them in. On the reciept the part is called a 'washer - thrust'.

You know why Matt?

Probably because its been posted before :P

Few threads to get you started :woot:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Gt...ml&hl=shims

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Di...ml&hl=shims

Edit: Even the DIY section as per above (didnt even check there!)

Sorry Ash, those threads are no help, as im not after thicker friction plates, which are discussed in those threads..not much about the spacers i was after.

..and swanny those are GTSt shims, they are far different from GTR shims.

So the homework was done!

Anyways i managed to source some .5mm spacers locally, for about $15ea, ill just need to machine them down as they are slightly larger in outside diameter.

Cheers :banana:
