hey guys/girls

i have a R32 gts-t with the stock rb20 in it. Today i bought a boost controller and a auto meter pro oil filled boost gauge also. me and my cousin connected it all up and ran it down the road, and i hit 14 psi, my first intention was that i may have had to boost controller up causing the 14 psi. so we stopped and checked and then did another run and got 13 psi, we got a bit worried that it may be the boost controller. so we went back home removed it and put it back to stock again, did another run and again received 13 psi, finally we thought maybe it was just the boost gauge so we removed that, and installed the one that my cousin was using in he’s car and again we got 13 psi.

I’ve heard that the stock turbo is meant to run 7 psi and 11-12 is safe and 14 is risk area. so I’m worried why my turbo is running 13-14 psi???

Could anyone help me or let me know what it could be.

Thanks

Niran

14 psi will be ok for the motor however you are flirting with breaking the turbo, the stock actuator for an r32 is 10psi, you might get a little more if you have exhaust done etc. i would be looking at your guage install make sure that everything is nice and tight and no chance of leaks etc.
