I find in both dads and mine R32's 1st is very hard to select. Ill only use it to get off the line after coming to a stand still.

Its no big deal.. the cars have enough torque to get around at quite low RPM in second gear.

Double clutch it.

There is no synchro on first gear.

I didnt even realise i subcontiously do this too..

But are you sure? I swear when I opened my box up the last time I saw a syncro. Could it be different from GTST to GTS4?

I believe there are synchros on 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th but not on 1st and reverse.. someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong ;)
My 1974 180B SSS had synchro on 1st. My 1971 240Z had synchro on 1st. I think my dad's 1968 XT Falcon wagon had synchro on 1st (it was an option, but it was there).

If your R32 doesn't have synchro on 1st, then it's because the synchro is rooted, not because Nissan didn't design it with synchro.

It won't have synchro on reverse.

So a bunch of mixed answers

Does anyone no for definite why it would crunch changing into first whilst moving

It literally wouldnt let me select first gear while moving

Im pretty much making a decision about the car tonight so an answer before then would be greatly appreciated

How slow were you going when trying to push it in.

Most cars dont go into first very easily rolling, but if you had to completely stop them imo thats not normal, no.

I can get my R34 box into first without crunching pretty easily when still rolling

before i bought my car i had this exact problem. my box is the standard R33 GTSt25 box (not sure if they carried it over from the 32?)

yes it did have syncro in first.

yes it was rooted.

dealers solution was to through a spare gearbox in.

what you get from buying with a dealer :P

so from that id say your syncros f**ked. your choice on what you should do about it.
