Howie, from what I understand boost can be raised whilst still using the factory solenoid, my boost was only raised a few psi.... think I'm now running 11psi up from 9. So that particular tune was one utilising the daughterboard, check throughout the post, I'm pretty sure its been mentioned. I'm sure James can confirm that for sure for you though.

The m\board allows us to store the "maps" on seperate re-flashable memory, not like UV style chips. Also imbedded is an additional socket allowing the use of a real time emulator. Allowing the skilled tuner, with the correct knowhow and software, to real time custom tune the vehicles ECU. The board is contained within the factory ECU case

sounds like bikirom. that board has FLASH memory and socket for plugging in MultiROM16. no other boards out there that I know which have that...

As it is plumbed up from the factory, there is no way to control the boost with the factory soleniod, it is only a simple bleed, runs wastegate pressure when off, and x psi more when on(2-3psi on an r33) then you have more boost form exhaust mods etc.

Link ECU's actually use the factory solenoid as a electronic boost controller apparently. And they go up to 14psi before they run out of duty cycle
