As the title says for my project I am changing from a r32 gtst anual box to a r32 GTR box.

Couple of problems have arisin:

1) speedo cable is no long enough to reach the sender

2) Clutch slave plumbing is different

3) Gearbox mount is totally different.

Now The gearbox mount I know I have to modify to suite the diff car but I am unsure what angle the box has to be on. The clutch plumbing isnt a masive problem a trip to the Local hydraulic shop to get a new lead made up, Or is there an alternate?

Speedo cable is my major concern and what cable to use?

If anyone can help me regarding these would be a great help, I have pm'd URAS but no reply so far as he seems to have done a few of these conversions before.

Cheers in advance

I have not tride the GTR cross member nor have I found a picture of one to see if it possibly will.

I ordered a GTR speedo cable from Nissan this afternoon for $130 pick it up tomorrow.

As for the clutch thats what I suspected I would have to do local guys are into cars so will get them to make me one up for $30 - $40

Yes cut the trasnfer case off, welded a plate over the hole. I also gutted everything to do with the FWD system took about 15kg's out of the trasnfer case. I put 2 ltrs of tranny oil in the rear transfer case and left the oil pump in there to keep the bearings happy.

I need a little guidence!

I am in the middle of making a gearbox mount but am unsure what angle to put the gearbox on, and does it matter the gearbox isnt pointing directly at the diff?

Some advice from people who have done this before would be a great help

Cheers

its pretty important the drive shaft is straight and balanced, from what i understand it will rattle and can break under load.

for all that dicking around and cash spent you could of rebuilt your old box with decent gears and not have the stuff around lol

to be really honest to ya mate from what i've heard the rb25 box internals are pretty much the same as the 26 box just without the transfer. i'm running a 25 box in mine, yes it is alot tighter then the 20 box but it is heaps stronger. you need to modify the crossmember and the speedo drive needs to modified as it is a transducer type and the 32 were cable driven. i found a company in springwood brisbane to modify mine. looked pretty simply how they modified it if you have the right gear i suppose.

Yea the gtr box i have has a Cable pickup for it, and I bought a new GTR speedo cable to go with it.

I got the gearbox mounted into the car on Sunday, see the pictures below.

Now all i have to worry about is the tail shaft.
