Tv Actors Not Hoons When Involved In Crashes?

HOME and Away star Todd Lasance was taken to Sydney's Royal North Shore hospital after being involved in a serious car accident at the weekend.

The young actor, 23, was driving on Warringah Rd, Forestville, on Sunday when he collided with a Honda Civic being driven by an 80-year-old woman.

Lasance and his passenger, a 21-year-old woman, had to be freed from the actor's Toyota Supra sports car by a rescue team before being taken to hospital by ambulance.

The elderly driver was also temporarily trapped in her vehicle and suffered serious injuries.

According to initial police reports, the woman was allegedly making an improper right turn off the busy road into Darley St, causing Lasance, who was travelling west, to collide with her car.

"The driver of the Toyota suffered bruising and soreness to his chest and minor cuts to his hand, while the passenger was reportedly in a serious condition," Inspector Bob Bell told Confidential yesterday.

Lasance, who shares an apartment in the beachside suburb of Collaroy with his Home and Away colleague Lincoln Lewis, was in the studio filming yesterday and not available for comment.

A spokesman for the Seven network was keen to play down the accident.

"Todd is fine and back at work on the Home and Away set this week," the spokesman said.

The self-confessed "turbo-lover" bought the imported Toyota Supra - the "car of his dreams" - at the end of last year.

"I am going to work on it and make it absolutely, ridiculously fast," Lasance is quoted on the Home and Away website in talking of his car.

maybe he was only going to use that speed legally, having a very fast car does not make you a hoon. its what you do with it that does.

who gives a fig what the media thinks or tries to portray, if hoons are in the wrong go to town on em, if they get involved in someones elses bad driving leave em alone

I guess in a way i kinda agree that yes if it was any of us it'd be "another hoon related incident" and we'd get our cars crushed or something.

But in my other frame of mind, if we're in an accident, and its NOT our fault, and we can clearly prove that to the media then we shouldn't be punished, and maybe that's what he's done?

failed to mention his alledged speed perhaps? lol with the serious injuries the others substained i'd like to know if the 80 yr old was was making a drifted right turn..

both the old lady and the passenger received seroius injuries but home and away star comes unscathed.. god blesses the beautiful? Or is a home and away fan..

I think you should write a letter to your local newspaper expressing your dissatisfaction with the situation, and how it's affected your ability to pick up your pension cheque, which is a disgrace in itself given how long you were in the workforce supporting this country and you even fought in two wars dammit
