LOL ... i think i'll just save up to get the HICAS lock bar and get my labourer Brendan to fix it for me !!! and also go back to west side audio and ask them to have a look at my car again. heller44
Before you play with anything else, do a hicas diagnostic. It will report what part of the system isn't working correctly and you can fix it, or at least find out why it is playing up. It won't be your power steering fluid as you have a 33, 32's had hydraulic hicas mixed in with the power steering hydraulics, 33's have electrical hicas but the computer for the system still runs both hicas and power steering systems. If search worked on here it would be easy to find, (diagnostic procedure that is) if you can't post up and i'll drag it out if I can find it. bubba
lock that shit out, worth every penny! +1 My lockbar cost $85 and install should be even easier on a 33 as you don't have to worry about fluid lines! NA_Goodness
Lock it out, and remove all the lines. If you can, install a non-HICAS steering rack and get rid of it altogether. What mechanics do you take it to? Do they have any experience with HICAS? I've called the RAC once when a cooler hose blew off my mates R34, and the guy had NO idea what an intercooler pipe was. Just proves that not all mechanics can fix certain issues. mitchy_
non-hicas rack isnt required, to be honest i wouldn't even bother with it unless your current rack is stuffed they may also be a different ration, and more turns lock-to-lock. NA_Goodness
Listen to Mitch then. Either way, I'd block HICAS and get rid of the hoses. Its actually quite heavy. Ehgriez
120 for a lock bar from JPC in osborne park, i believe he still had one hanging on his wall last time i went down there. 3 Hours if you don't know where your starting from and you kind of just start at it, hour and a half if you get a mate to help whos done it before. Best investment you'll make. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/232228-hicas-yet-again/page/2/#findComment-4559887 Share on other sites

Ehgriez
when you install a HICAS lock bar, the light should come on solid. It won't turn off as it thinks theres an issue. Ehgriez
If you feel like retaining the hicas or feel that removing it won't solve your problem do as above. ^^ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/232228-hicas-yet-again/page/2/#findComment-4561568 Share on other sites
