i wouldn't be rushing out to buy one.... nearly twice the price of 6Boost and not tuned length (from what i can see)...

doesn't look as nice either.... the only thing better is the twin wastegates (if you wanted this option)

but if you asked Kyle to do it he would...

Not really sure what you mean by "tuned length" . Geoff works off pressure drop through each runner not length which is the proper way to go about it . Neither the engine or the turbo care about equal length but with manifold pressure its a different story .

Your call , search around the web about FullRaces exhaust manifolds . The usual dilemma is can you afford them or not , not do they work or not .

If it were me and the cost wasn't an issue I know what I'd do .

full race make realli good manifolds but i dont like the idea of using stainless for manifolds

stainless just doesnt compare to mild steel steam pipe imo

even the highest grade stainless will have a higher chance of cracking where as mild steel steam pipe is so strong that they can be sold with life time warranty

As above. I also have a stainless nismo gtstr manifold factory fitted up to the car in 1987. Came off for hpc coating year or two ago and no signs of any fatigue let alone cracking anywhere.

Whatever stainless they used it sure as hell is thick as the manifold weighs a tonne.

my stainless has developed some cracks.. have welded them back together but thats a short term fix..

theres a reason kyle offers lifetime warranty on his steam pipe manifolds... will be upgrading to 6boost once the manifold starts to leak again.

yeah reliability isnt a problem with good stainless mani's, although i would like to see what heat retention is like between mild and some thick, high grade stainless

thermal conductivity for stainless is much lower than your typical mild steel

I would spend the extra and go full race in a heartbeat, currently have 6boost and looking to make the change if that gives you any idea.

    • Aren't these run off of high voltage in OEM applications? Like 200+V. Or at least 48V in mild hybrids. At ~18,000 BTU ballpark nominal capacity the power draw is at what, 2.2 kW? ~185A is a pretty crazy amount of amps. At 200V it's only 11A. The 70A nominal kits with up to 100A peak draw I see for stuff like classic Porsches have pretty substantial compromises like shutting off at idle and not actually managing to keep the interior cool in hot conditions because they can only output like 6000 BTU. IMO if I had to pick what high amp draw component to retrofit to these cars I would start with the engine fan, not the AC compressor. You need an ~850-1000W brushless fan, something like this: I would love to see the data but I would bet that whatever you save by running the AC compressor in a more efficient regime with an electric motor you're probably losing to conversion losses anyways. It's not really like a clutch fan where you're losing power all the time even when it's nominally disengaged and it gets worse as it engages because the envelope tracking isn't that precise.

    • I'm wondering is the Toyota and Mazda "collaboration" could see that new Toyota ???G20 ??? turbo engine that they have been showing off recently into a future MX5, apparently it's good for 400hp out of the box That could easily, possibly, be much better than the last collaboration between Toyota and Subaru with the boxer engine in the twins
