Ok, i've really developed an interest in tuning power fc's and want to get FC Datalogit to actually do it on mine.

On they're website they advertise the software and the cable for $400ish i think, on this smaller tuning site ausperformace they advertise it for $650 but with some LC1 cable.

A few people have told me the cable itself is 600-700... I'm confused.

So i need to get the software to do it with, the cable to connect it to my laptop and how important is a wideband o2 sensor?

Thanks alot

datalogit = $500 ish

wideband sensor = $500 for a wire in kit, upto $1k for a portable wideband kit

the wideband is an absolute must for on road and dyno tuning

without it all you can is increase timing and wait for it detonate

there is lots of documentation on PFC tuning and datalogit tuning

the PFC FAQ covers these items to death, the link is in my signature

The LC1 kit (around $2-300) consists of a wideband O2 sensor (which can be fitted in place of your standard one) and a cable which can connect to your laptop (or to an LM1 or LM2 datalogger). Check the www.innovatemotorsports.com site. There is an Australian made kit from Tech Edge (do a search on this site for SK's account of building and using one).

i disagree with that, the sensor needs to be about 3 feet away from the turbine outlet according to my wb02 manual.

thats where i fitted mine, also the angle & location around the pipe is important for sensor life.

cheers

    • Thanks Mate, I did know you could do that but i know there is a pump out there that you can bolt on and it all lines up. I was told about it and then forgot the model, I figure if i am pulling it apart i will just put a new one on
    • You can also remove the veins from the HICAS portion of your existing pump.
    • Trying to swap the rear subframe on my R34 and can't remove the L-shaped stay brackets between the front subframe mounts and the sill/chassis. I'm in the UK so rust is a problem. I've used loads of WD40 and then Tunap 103 for days beforehand. I backed off the bolts forward a bit, backward a bit repeatedly for ages to try and avoid snapping. They have all moved a few full turns. The one I've spent most time on has come loose and I can turn with fingers, and it will pull down and push up 2-3mm. But it won't come out. I can tighten it back up and loosen it off again repeatedly but it still won't come out. I assumed there's a captive nut inside but if that's broken loose then I can't understand why I can always tighten the bolt back up - I'd expect it to just spin both ways. Any ideas what's happening here? I can't visualise what's inside there to cause this.
    • Cheers, yeah it was recently imported, is the actual Nissan not an Infiniti so will have to do some chasing around for parts.    Any ideas if the side skirts from a Q50 would fit on the 400r?
