boost gauge installation

I need some help with the boost gauge. I installed the hose from the boost gauge to the vacuum hose of the stock bov. The thing is it works fine but i only get a stock reading of 7 psi when i should be having 9 or 10, but when i hold my foot flat while going hard, it hits 7 psi then after like 3 or 4 seconds it hits 9 or 10 psi. Is this normal or have i hooked it up wrong?? Could someone please let me know.

I am not to sure on this topic, but I believe that the Skylines boost an extra 2 psi above 5000 rpm. Sounds like it may be working properly.

Mr Flex, the stock solenoid boost set-up has lower boost before 4200RPM or so, and then kicks up another 2psi or so after that. If the car is totally stock, it should be about 5.5psi from 2000-4200 then about 7.5psi after that. With a cat-back expect higher boost to be up to 9-10psi. Readings sound right.
