I'm very happy with this at such low poundage :D

Apparently it sounds frigging awesome as well with the cams timed properly. I'm dying to hear it! Also looking forward to seeing some torque results.

I have no idea specifics of head porting, left that also to the guys in the know. I just know that Greg spent A LOT of time on the head and he did some bench flow test type thing on it when it was done and was extremely happy with the results.

Definatly sounds like it flows well. For reference mine had a 100% stock head except springs, on 21psi did 355kw atw with a 3L bottom. The on boost acceleration was just manic, id expect yours to be the same with the 2.8 kit. Now with cams, cam gears and porting id expect to see above 400 kw atw on the same boost on my r32. Regardless of that though the single is out and GTRS's are on, will run to 2 bar i think :D

Before all this started I wanted to be able to run 300awkw all day every day on an awesome strong reliable engine and well on track for that.

Should be able to push for 350awkw but only limitation for me is turbos as for going higher. I think for a while I'll be happy with this! Nice streetable power :D

Realistically at 15 PSI with the stroker it probably doesn't have that much more to give on those small turbo's, maybe 340kw max? but the response should be awesome.

Well turns out the intercooler has let us down a little (damn stocker!). So we can't put the level of boost that we wanted.

Ended up making 320rwkw at 15psi yesterday. So best we're gonna have until the stoopid cooler is swapped out is 331rwkw. Goes like a frigging rocket though, it's hard not to squeal the wheels when I take off :)

VERY VERY happy with the results, totally different car to drive and the cams sound f**king amazing!

    • Nah no bearings, just slip fit.  Would be a reasonably challenging but not impossible job to modify it to run bearings but I'm hoping that's not necessary as I may have well built one myself if I end up spending hours modifying it!
    • Brumbys with good shells are bloody expensive, I've looked at 2 "cheaper" cars, and walked away from both,  plus after some research spare parts are fairly sparce I'm starting to think that I missed the boat on finding a clean one that is straight (ish) and without alot rust I'm starting to think about a old Hilux as panels and other parts are much more available as they sold tens of thousands of them I use to be indecisive but now I'm not sure
    • A Brumby would probably fit a big metal toolbox in the back... this is how it begins  
    • Picked up a new OEM boot seal for the MX5 today as the old one got ripped a bit by me being a idiot by seeing if I could fit a large metal tool box in it, it didn't fit, and ripped the seal with the corner of the tool box I am still waiting on time to get the cams and new balancer installed, as well as the repairs to the boot Time will not be an issue soon though
    • I was more thinking so it doesn't flop around as much rather than for rotating it. Once you have the balance right, it should rotate well enough, depending on how much resistance there is on the pivot. I think you said the pivot point was on a bearing though didn't you?
