are you getting fuel to the engine?

follow the hose from the Fuel pressure regulator, and disconnect it from the line damper near the fuel filter... crank the car with that hose in a bucket or tub. if it starts to fill up your ok there - if not your pump is not sweitching on or is shagged

  • 2 weeks later...

i think its battery too...can anyone recommend a place in sydney preferrably west for me to take my dead batter and charge it? and also if the headlights and cd players work does that mean battery isn't dead? or does it need more power to kick the engine over? cuz mine dont start but lights work :s

Get a jumpstart off a friend and let your alternator charge it or buy a cheap arlec car-battery charger from supercheap ~25$

Battery might not be dead just flat (but this depends on heaps of factors) i.e. not able to provide enough current, anyway you'll know when it wont hold full charge

Another possibility is that youve run down into the filth at the bottom of the tank and that its blocked the fuel filter. Check fuel pressure as above

All else fails check ign circuit

no, your car/smotor will only pull what it needs, 600amps is its current capacity. Should be ok if you still have juice in your battery (there only a small 6 anyway)

i tried using the jump starter this morning..and now the cars lights dont even go on..the immobiliser's indicator not on either..no power what so ever :s b4 atleast the lights were working..im thinking if its cuz i left it for the last 2-3 days with a drained battery or is it cuz of the way i plugged in the jump starter..i plugged the red to the positive..and the black cable to the chasis..but left the plugs on the battery from the car as it is..or shud i had taken them off? :s

    • Surprisingly the D6000 is only $1999, I'm waiting for the BF/CM sales, and hoping to get one cheaper. D4000 is well priced, still outperforms the 13" SVS PB-3000 and is like 1/2 the price at $1699 RRP. I do watch a fair amount of movies, and listen to EDM, jazz, symphonies, etc. so the lower notes from a subwoofer are always appreciated. The front 8" stage, just doesn't provide you with lively feeling, even though they are pretty bassy for a pair of large bookshelves. Then again, these days it's just playing Wiggles, Blippi and Ms Rachel, another reason the 3m wide cabinet exists, to hide all the audio gear behind it. They used to sit on a nice pair of stands, but as you know, they make good baby traps too.
    • Granted, which is a solid reason why I don't have one. My floorstanders are only -2 dB at 22 Hz.  So they're still working down to <20 Hz. Which is no doubt part of the reason why my receiver shits the bed! That Tonewinner would be about double the cost though, so it's not apples and apples. There aren't many AU$1300 subs (that you can buy prebuilt, I'm ignoring what can be achieved by DIYing) that compete.
    • -6dB at 22Hz isn't that great, watch the data from the D6000 from REW
    • I'll just leave this here. https://www.adelaidespeakers.com/subwoofers.html TL loading, big power. They sound awesome. This is what I would buy if I was going to try to take the bass away from my floorstanders. Just go with the 12".
    • I'll snap up some photos when I'm back home, in the office today meeting my "in the office" quota. Have 2x Teams calls scheduled in, office culture they reckon.   I've never owned a proper off the shelf sub, I've always made or modified broken ones with Jaycar plate amps and/or car subwoofer drivers. The current (and broken) subwoofer has a proper home driver in it, Dayton driver, thos one https://www.daytonaudio.com/product/118/rss265hf-4-10-reference-hf-subwoofer-4-ohm FS of 25Hz, which is low but not low enough. Yeah, I think they were brought out to the market to compete with SVS. I would love a SVS PB-3000 but they're not cheap, especially after their price hike. From reviews online, it does look like the Tonewinner D6000 would destroy and with good amount of money saved too.
