Hey guys, i got a black r33 series 2 and have been looking into giving the interior a bit of a make over..

i am looking at buying those leatherette seat covers, the same from the group buy.. with everything else, boot, door trims etc

just need an opinion of which colour would look good on my car... i was looking at getting it either in bone, similar to that red 32 that was on hot 4s, cream, red, or two tone red and black..

or if you have any other colour suggestions would be great.

il also most likely spray the dash in same colour, or chrome if i decide bone or cream

thanks

here is a link of of the actual seat covers... gives you an idea thanks Ebay Link

This again is one of those thing you really should just decide on your own cause others will only give you their opinion and everyone has one of those....

But, if you do just want another opinion that you may just disagree with, I'd stay right away from red & black it just looks tacky and cheap, I'm not a beige interior person, whenever I see beige or white interiors the next thing they get is 20"chromies, not a fan at all...

I'd go all black or black and dark grey, that way it suits the rest of the interior. I'm also not a fan of painted dashboards, everyone I've seen looks tacky and you know in a years time its gonna look worse from wear, reupholstered dashboards with a complete reupholstered interior would be ok but again I would go low key, black or dark grey, the outside of the car is for flamboyance, the inside is the machines interface for a driver...

But its just another persons opinion you have to like it yourself, screw what others think.

75coupe has a good point about individuality.

My next car (R33 GTSt) will have a red and black interior. I think it works really well, stands out, and isnt too hard to see or in your face. Bone and beige are too over the top, everyone has that. Its just too common, and not special any more.

One idea you should look at is a marble effect? I'm doing my dash like that soon, hopefully it turns out decent.

thanks for your replies people...

yeh i guess ultimately its up to me but sometimes excitement takes over the eyes and u end up with something that u later regret lol..

so lyk this i get a reality check

im thinking hard about this caus i also wanted to add rims to the car when i get these and want things to match.. no cromies lol

ok so considering ur opnions im down to these choices "white, two tone black and white or red" , although the more i look at the white the more i like it and the less i like the red. il be embroiding something like the nismo on the covers as well. maybe Skyline in black or Skyline with the GT logo.

and here are pics of the style of rims i was looking at getting

thanks again... ur opinions appreciated..

each to their own i guess...

i dnt c a point of getting black and grey... i guess i want it to stand out... which means getting both positive and negative feedbacks..

and jap rims arent cheap... oh and plus i got 4 stud so my options are quiet limited... i dnt think the hiro's on the pics come in 4 stud either... i jst like the style of them

Munkyboy: they are frm ebay, jst search leather seat covers... they are different from the group buy, the one in the pic you have to rip your old cover off.. they look sweet

Axis rims rims aint from Japan, they are USA made... and as far rims go personally I would not rate them highly at all... I find them a tad tacky like red and black or white fake leather interiors bought off ebay...

remember, you wanted opinions...

lol i didnt say the axis rims were frm japan... i said japanese rims arent cheap, hence why im going for the cheaper options available to me in 4 stud.. if i had a GTR i would consider paying 3-4k on nice jap wheels, bt why bother if i have a gtst, the wheels will be worth half the price of the car.

its called leatherette haha, i guess ur offending everyother person that got these fake leather seat covers from the group buy :P

well thats what forums are for.. opinions, and no offence taken..

I think cream coloured with red or black stiching would look good.

You have 4 studs so i assume its a non tubo, my opinion dont waste money on an n/a

Axis hiros look nice i have a mate with a 180sx 2jzgte 750hp with em so dont listen to the get jap rims people. Unless your racing it and with a n/a that would be stupid

Decals/vinyl would be even more tacky

Turbo well in that case

Yeah white with back sticthing would look nice.

You will find it real hard getting some 4 stud wheels i doubt the hiros come in 4 stud. Dont quote me on this but i think you can do a conversion to 5 stud wheels. Check out the n/a section or have a search for conversions

yep they are leatherette,

Go for it mate if you have the cash.

I wanted to do this on mine

How will you have it installed as you have to remove the current lining on the seats and chuck on the new ones. Sounds like a mum job

Post up pics when done of course... Hope it all goes well...

It should at least clean up the now aging seats in 32s & 33s.

you never know, you may convert me into liking leatherette and non standard interior colours.

    • It only looks tidy, as most of the stuff that was on the whole back wall, is now in the trailer to go to the tip, or has been shoved in my 2.2x2.4m "Spare parts room", and now I can't get to anything in there Ha ha ha I could definitely do with a bit more space, but I'd just end up with your problems I'm going to enclose the car port beside the garage, and move a lot of stuff into it I think. OR... It will be setup as a fabrication area, and the main garage will have parts storage in it. I'm not sure yet... Need some pictures of that big shed you've got with the bikes and Skyline in
    • No. I think it's gone. 😭 I think you can get body coloured ones on eBay so I think I'll get one of those... Or just hang a red ribbon from the hole and whack a TOW sticker next to it.
    • Can't say I've had a bad experience with one on my car, then again it only gets washed once or twice a year... The wheels on the other hand, get a good spray often due to my shitty dusty pads.
    • @MBS206 thats pretty neat and tidy to me!  I'll get a photo of mine when I'm out there next. It might require multiple photos to understand the scale of the atrocities though... In total I have 4 sheds of varying sizes and layouts. Main shed is 14x8, second shed is 3x8, third shed is 11x2.5, fourth shed is around 6x4.  All are pretty much full.   The main goal of my cleaning tsunami is to make the main shed predominantly car and motorbikes only. Second shed is my metal fab room (2 x bench grinders, drill press, bench belt sander, metal band saw, scrap metal storage and some of my garden tools.  3rd shed is more bigger garden stuff, storage for engine crane, jack stands, concrete grinder, concrete mixer, air compressor lives there, and it now has two 2mx2m pallet racking shelves with itemised boxes holding building stuff, electrical stuff, plumbing stuff, etc, etc.  The 4th shed is Ryobi electric ride on mower, mini boom sprayer, ancient Kubota tractor, more garden stuff!  I have got a lot of shit....  Then there's the pool house (8mx4m) and the pool pump shed (4mx4m).  I built all of the sheds over the 11 years we've been here.  The main shed was a Ranbuild kit, the rest are all custom made to fit the areas available. Building the main shed taught me a LOT as I had no idea about building anything prior to that!  I've still got one more in me. It will be my man cave which I poured the extra concrete for way back when I poured the concrete for the main shed. The idea is the Skyline will be a centre piece of the main cave once (if...) it's finished.  I told my now 14 year old son yesterday that I will 100% drive him to his year 10 formal in 2 years. Still a long way off but at least I now have a date to work towards! 🤣
