Ok you start with $15k, at the age of say, 16. You are now 18, and have $70k. This means you have gained $55k in at most, 3 years. This works out to be just under $20k/year.

In other words - you didn't actually earn much of that by working, obviously. Most 16 year olds are lucky to get 6 bucks an hour, and they've got school at least part time. That amount of money is not far off what a lot of people on adult wages get for full time work.

So again, I conclude, that it is rich parent syndrome :D

dont u get it still??

he has just been making up shit to make himself look good!!

Its ALL BS!! It just doesnt add up

His profile says he was born in 1970 (so hes about 30 according to that)

He's 18 in his posts....

He's un-Imployed (according to profile) so he doesnt work to get the money. He's still at school (most like preschool), because he can't spell a simple word either.

The internet is a wonderful tool for the insecure

it may not be bullshit, one of my very good friends is 17 and he has a brand new m3, half of which the money used to pay for the 160g beast was legitemetly earned by himself. I respect him for being able to do that. Im like greg i worked sinci grade 7 for my parents company, lasted year a bought a vl did it up and sold it for twice what i payed for it and as an end result had 10g's in the bank, my parents where nice enough to give me 6 so i could have a decent car, and i now have my line. They woudltn let me have a turbo charged first car not only due to insurance but they thought i would of killed myself and i know for a fact i would of. Im still only 17 and work my guts out for mods for my car but its worth it. Some people just have it a little easier, but dont be ashamed to say u have nice parents that were willing to buy u a car, its not a bad thing just dont bullshit about it.

they were his 2 options. r34 gtr or m3, u know which i told him tyo get but he liked the bimmer more, it drove smoother, ive driven it! oh my god what a car, but i must say i have never driven a 34 gtr but i creamed my dacks just sitting in one and revving it. haha. oh well.

WTF?

wtf is wrong with 70k for a first car that is absoulely NOTHING.

i am not saying that i have that, i have nothing near that....but thats not the point. Rich parents is all that guyz needs, mayb he does work for his parents for like 50bux an hr? who knowz? but jus coz many of u guyz cannot get that cash in that time period doesnt mean he's bullshiting..I know OF some1 whose 18?19? drives a porshe carrera =) and also heard he has an M3 and his mum drives a royce...his family owns a hotel..which is pretty big in sydney? so like what is so surprising about this 18year old having $70k, + jus coz he's rich doesnt mean we should be dissin him. Im a bit of a poor bastard myself, and yes i wouldnt mind having $70k to buy a first car, but such is life, there are alwayz people beta off than us, in which means there are ALSO many people whom we are betta off den, so we should jus be content wit wat we have n stop dissing him..

yeah so mate,...jus get a 350Z..i doubt u would get insurance wit a r34GTR.....................350Z is da way to goo!!!

okay guys, maybe this is bullshit maybe not

but to say a 18 yr old can't earn 20 grand a year? hehehe u gotta be kidding me

i am clearing close to that, only a little bit off and i don't work full time :) so there ya go i only turned 18 this year :( and no i ain't bragging just trying to stop the generalisation that occurs :)

adrian:P

Guys, i dont think anyones doubting that a 18 y/o can earn 20K a year or the fact that some people are fortuneate enough to have a 70K first car. Sure sometimes people have well off parents (lucky them) and sometimes they have to work damn hard.

What matters is their ATTITUDE towards that situation.

But in this particular situation i think everyones calling B/S, because it probably is

well im 18 and my first car is a R34 GTR...not that i can drive it anymore, but u can. My parents bought it for me and i still got it.. Just sits in the garage and i have to wait till im 21 now to drive the bloody thing.. So he might aswell can get one...

    • Hi All, I'm based in Sydney and want to get hold of 4 stock R34 GTT wheel caps as pictured. Cheers
    • Haha im flattered! Although my poor boat is collecting dust in the garage, as it hasn’t been driven in like 6 months. I forgot the to put the trickle charger on too, so the battery is likely toast now.. I have the frenchys kit. It is fantastic. My only gripe was that the hard lines from the firewall needed some tweaking, however, this was mainly due to my specific turbo and dump combo. The weight and size packaging is much nicer too. I think I have some pics on my build thread somewhere.. my justification for the kit was more “why not” I had gone to the trouble to modernise just about every other part of the car..
    • Actually, ethanol has probably never been cheaper, on a tax free basis, than petrol. With fuel excise being what it is, and only being levied on the hydocarbon component, not the ethanol component, and ethanol for non-drinking purposes not being subject to liquor excise - E85 was cheaper, but not because the combustible liquid itself was particularly cheaper.
    • Maybe? If changing the cat to a higher flowing cat, caused the turbo to spool more quickly, and those areas of the map had not been tuned for the boost level it is now seeing, then yes you would need a re-tune. How dangerous it is running without the updated tune would depend on how far out the tune is with the now higher boost levels, how the engine protection has been setup, is the ECU compensating with a wideband sensor, is the boost control closed loop blah blah million other things... But yeah having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if changing out the cat for a high flow, in say a full 3" exhaust, made no noticeable difference at all.
    • Ah yep. I asked a auto electrician about getting a cheap rebuilt alternator vs a new one. He also said he used to it back in the day but it ended up costing similar to what a new one would and recommended getting a new one,.
