I just bought a dvd tv head unit for my r33, prob is that i cant see any visual on the screen but can hear it. I heard ages ago this can happen cos the bropwn wire being the handbrake wire is not connected to ground, would this be true? It says on the screen that i cant view this function whilst driving, the thing is im just sitting in the car with the ign on.

Should i ground the brown wire?

why dont people pay the $70 to get it installed by a pro? at least that way ur covered by warrenty if something goes on.. I can understand learning to do it urself and what not... but u pay how much for the deck, do u really want somethin to go wrong in a couple of months and then not be able to get it fixed?

My 2cents

just installed one myself. dont wire it to your handbrake. wire the handbrake wire to a generic earth in the vicinity of the head unit area, all this does is allow the video to play anytime you want other than just when the handbrake is engaged. its a safety feature.
