Hey guys,

I am after a boost controller, i would get a blitz dual sbc spec R but they are expansive and rare second hand.

My second two options that im thinking are good are the blitz dual sbc spec S and greddy profec b spec II.

I wanted your opinions on which is better because they are around the same price brand new.

Incase you need to know, my car is a r33 gtst series 2, i have a fmic, full exhaust, enclosed pod filter, r33 gtr fuel pump. I have an apexi power fc waiting to go in and im picking up a z32 afm this weekend.

So after i get the boost controller im gona get it tuned in the coming weeks, which ill have to research what places are good in sydney.

Thanks alot in advance guys.

Ther spec S is an entry level unit and will struggle with a turbo that isnt well setup boost conrol wise, Honestley in the blitz range you would need the spec-r.

the best unit on the market is the IDIII but between the Spec-s and Profec the Profec wins hands down.

i just finished a review on the HKS evc6 in another thread on this page.

Thank you uras i couldnt ask for a better more direct answer.

I dont have a really quick skyline and im not loaded, as much as i would like the best on the market, i might just stick with the profec.

Cheers

I think the Jaycar boost controller has qualities the more expensive ones lack (if you can be botherered to build one although i have heard you can buy them ready assembled).

1. It can totally eliminate any boost going to the actuator until you want it to.

2. Boost is determined by the duty cycle of the injectors and so independent of rpm and also reaction is quicker than measuring boost and then reacting to that.

If you have the time read the relevant bits of the "Jaycar"thread in the DIY section of the Stagea section. I am going to fit mine (and my DAFA and SITC) tomorrow so will have some real experience. A number of Stagea owners (including SK) have fitted them and I haven't heard any negative feedback.
