380RS fender flares installed

Looking good Am, like its crouching. Any trouble fitting/blended them in?

Always loved JDM James' G35 (if I'm honest, the hood was not to my taste), now that thing had some flares on it...

They fit pretty nice. The front bumper side marker light gets in the way. Other than that, not bad at all.
JDMJames had a nice ride. Someone else owns it now. I always have to try something different. I wasn't willing to cut up my stock fenders (especially the rear) for $200 riveted on fender flares that can't be undone.

Chris your car is beyond awesome.

Question-

Why haven't you upgraded to projector headlights?

Dont thinknit will fit in with the style hes going for. 380RS fender flares....thats an awesome idea!

Thanks! I do really enjoy how the reflector lights blend in with the paint. The projectors just seem to be so "bright" with their chrome finish.

I am running a cup kit that is custom fitted to my coilovers.

Thanks again :) Always enjoy seeing VQ's from across the world and sharing mine with you guys!

For anyone that hasn't seen my thread on the V35 front page (I know I almost never check it) - anyone after a Urethane Nismo copy front bumper? I remember a while back when I discussed bringing some in a few people wanted them.

Hey mate nice 300 but if you plan to go lower than that i would remover the mudspats behind the front wheels as they will hit on bumpa and coming out of driveways and what not and breaking other parts. What are the wheel and tire specs?

Almost there ... !!! :X :X :X

Woah!! Dat ride height!!!!! Persobally i would have put coilovers in first before wheels and all that cosmetic stuff that does nothing for performance. Enjoy running spacers on those wheels when coilovers go in!

Lol yeah, it's chillin out up there so it doesn't get stepped on!

Got the other side halfway done. It's at a different angle than the drivers side. Just still trying to get a feel for how I want to place them. Still have a lot of cutting to do on them.

New wheels are behind schedule... still about 3 weeks away from being done :verymad: Were supposed to be done by now!

The Gram Lights are being passed around. No owner has kept them longer than a month. They're getting beat up, I'm sure... sad story...

Going with a real classic wheel next, but haven't seen any V35's or Z33's when them yet! So it'll be interesting! I'll post up pics as soon as they are done getting made!

    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
    • How much does the shifter move when the car is in gear with the engine off? If it is more than about 1cm you need to replace your shifter bush. Your shifts will just get crunchier, not faster, with a short shifter unless you also rebuild the whole box
    • I should video mine, will prob do it tomorrow    Between 1st and 3rd, you could fit another two gears. That is how loose and wobbly it is   horrible:(
    • Throws on the FS5R30A in most Nissans of this era are actually quite short and direct compared to any remotely modern BMW with the S6-53 transmission. Those things have throws a mile long with rubbery vague everything. Synchro issues combined with a short shifter is just going to break everything even faster.
    • Only thing I'd add...is on recommendation from a good diff shop, I've used mineral oil in my diff including the race car for years. The synthetics can be too slippery and glaze the gears
