No outcome yet.

Falcon was a a bit lighter than bronze colour, when it drove off we didn't notice a computer screen inside the car nor a CB Radio either. Not sure if all cops hold these.

Even if they were detectives, they seemed too young..low to mid 20's. And i'm pretty sure it takes a while to rank yourself that high..atleast 10 years.

None of them had guns, capsicum spray, hand held radios...etc etc.

There are just too many reasons why they weren't real cops and not enough to make me believe they were genuine.

We got pulled over just before sydenham, main road before the T intersection @ Tempe Tyres. I think its Sydenham rd..not too sure.

After my friend was on the phone, we left and caught up to them within 20 secs of driving, he was on the phone for atleast 2 mins. And there were no traffic lights between the point where we stopped to when we caught up to them.

I'll be sure to let you guys know the outcome.

I don't mind cops, if i'm doing somethin stupid then yeh fine, I prob deserve it, but if they're just bein diggheads bout a small situation, ie cruising with friends, loud exhaust, then thats where i get pissed off.

I know a NSW cop on another forum. I'll PM him this thread and ask him if what happened is standard operating procedure.

The thing is, I somehow doubt your average detective is going to pull you over. When they get promoted out of general duties, I'm pretty sure they see petty shit like this as "beneath" them. I've only ever been pulled over by an unmarked plainclothes once, and that was when I accidentally got a little sideways in front of them.

Also, they didn't RBT you...which pretty much every cop does these days if they don't catch you in the act of doing something stupid, since they need a "reason" to pull you over for such a random check.

Rang my friend up dis morning.

you guys would never believe this.

The number plates were not on their system..not only that, they weren't registered on an AU Falcon..THEY WERE registered on a WRX!!!!!!!!

So it looks like they were out on a mission for one thing only.

Luckily I was with him and asked for their badges..otherwise it might of ended up a lot badder.

Yeh my friend parks his car all the time in his backyard.

They have to get through a roller door, then past his German Shephard...lol...but its only a pup..ha ha.

But on a serious note...this is not funny.

And yes..they don't use those lights up on their roofs with an exception for detectives. And they shine BLUE and RED..not just BLUE!

fark me,,,,,, i recon that rex that used to ware those plates is now scattered all over australia in a million parts..... not a skyline but still just as sad....

i got a shepherd aswell, good guard dog if trained right or has good instincts..... rare to find one with good instincts now.... the really aggressive ones have been bread out of existence in australia..... i miss my old dog (thats where my display name came from "KUJO") he was one tough son of a bitch and was declared dangerous at the tender age of 9 months old for attacking a burgular in my own backyard and leaving the guy unable to use his right arm for the rest of his life.....such expensive court costs....

to stop the car getting stolen, connect the mains power from the house to the steering wheel (just dont forget to turn it off when your mate goes for a drive)

Just for everyone's information, I sent this link to a mate who's a cop. This is what he came back with.

1. Any plainclothes police officer must provide their badge when enacting a power

2. The earliest model Falcons still in NSW service is a 2000 model, so technically AUs may still be getting around.

Still, since the plates were clearly dodgy its not really as relevant.

Scary shit. I'll be linking this on other sites, and I'd suggest everyone else do the same to get the word out.

fark man thats some dodgy shit. Make sure ur mate keeps an eye on his car. If ever you are worried about cops just drive straight to the cop station and see if they follow you. If they are real cops just explain to them how u felt about the situation

More info from the cop I asked:

undercover cars have different sounding sirens and only have a detatchable blue cherry light

police officers who are in plain clothes and on duty, have to carry their warrant cards and badges to provide proof they are police officers.

if they dont show you their badges and youre not satisfied that theyre not police officers you dont have to comply with their directions.

Have a good read of S201 of LEPRA

in a nutshell, they have to supply them with evidence they are a polcie officer (uynless in uniform), supply their names and stations when they enact a power.

and tell you that if you fail to comply with a direction you may be committing a further offence (ie resist arrest)

youre under arrest, if you dont come peacefully youre getting charged with resist etc

I hope that helps with the "should I hang around or should I leave if I think the person pulling me over is not a cop" questions people have been having.

mascot, bright, rockdale, petersham, newtown, glebe...... prime car theft areas...... my dad was on the beat around these areas in the late 80's and he sees nothing has changed..... these subrubs were strife for car thefts back then and still the same today..... he says the only area that he knows of that has changed its image is Balmain..... apparantly it was terrible back then,,, but looks to have cleared up allot now....

also these areas are prime hotspots,,,,,, but dont forget car thieves will migrate when pickings get scarce

but as far as BAD areas go ... those are just not that bad.

car theft is everywhere. but i consider a bad area somewhere you would feel unsafe to live, etc.

First rule when being pulled over by an undercover cop car is to leave your window no more than an inch down (so they cant reach inside or open the door themselves) and ask to see their badge. If they fail to show you their badge then drive off in a calm manner and drive directly to the nearest police station and stop under no circumstances.

If they are a real cop they will follow you the entire way (and things will get messy in the police carpark) if they aren't a cop they will drive off and disappear.

Also even though it might be law for an office to tell you their badge number upon request it doesn't mean they actually will. I've been surrounded by cop cars and dragged out of my car (with my seatbelt on) and when the local commander arrived and i requested badge numbers for the other officers off him even he refused to give them to me but instead just gave me his stupid card so I could call him the following day.
