My mate lost his license for 2 and a half years for drink driving and then got into a chase

He built one about 3 weeks ago and rode it around to my place

He didnt put it on an ugly cheap Kmart bike

It was pretty sick, does like 50-60 k's costs like 6 bux to fill and gets over 200 k's out of it

It's gonna kill me if I lose my licence for 6 months!

I've already appealed my licence and was 7 months into the "good behavior" period. Is there anything I can do????

I've heard you can go to court and ask just to drive to and from work only. But I don't know if that's just bulls#%t.

Any ideas???

but i do try to avoid being a dick,

my licence is my job! i loose my licence, i loose my job, my house, my car

every thing i have....is it worth that 20 seconds of fun? no.

but if you do it, and get cought, own up to it, dont pass the blame onto an innocent party.

get a lawyer. and look around. my original lawyer wasnt really sharp when it came to traffic stuff, diddnt realise till end of court. got 15 months. lost business, house, 1 car-expensive 4wd. had to catch the bus to tafe and restart!

being on good behaviour wont be easy to get around.

wish for the best outcome for ya and hope its a reminder to take that bit of extra attention and care on the road

You can do it every 12 months after a successful appeal. I'm fairly sure they dont take into your previous convictions either, so if you wait another 5 months you can reappeal and probably get another good behavior.. or take the 6 months on the chin and get your full licence back.

I'm not sure about the 5 year ruling, maybe if you had an unsuccessful appeal?

Oh and lawyers are anywhere from $150 - $300 p/hr - Will probably only take 30 mins to find out what you need to know.

I'd just go to one and just ask the question, go to a prominent one in the city if possible.

If your paying the money, you may as well get one that knows what he/she is talking about.
