Go for it, everyone telling you it's a waste of time/money drives a turbo. The sticking point for an N/A (and something the turbo boys forget) is that skylines handle really well. A twisty road and a screaming NA six, you'll be in heaven. While they boost into 1985 at 88mph, and then into a pole, the NA steers around it, and sounds great doing it.

There is a thread on that charity cruise but someone has said its a commodore car fest... So yeah, if you like commodores cruise on.

I think you should get a R32 GTS and keep the outside stock looking as posible = Less attention. Fuel economy should be better in a N/A as apposed to Turbo(s).

For future reference, if I ever use the word "ule" in any sentance, never take it seriously :)

Hey all,

Tha link is Skyline R32 GTS Link

Please tell me the first thing you are going to do is change those wheels. They really are disgusting.

Other than that it looks pretty sweet. My tip would be take the standard wing off and get some nice black racing style rims.

Seriously man. Yes Skylines are great cars, NA or turbo but don't pretend that the NA is the better package.

+1 about the wheels in that 32...they are herendous...

lower it and take off the spoiler..get some dish wheels and should be good..abit pricey aswell. i got my 1992 gtst for less then his asking price with 90,000kms on the clock.

I'm not suggesting it's a better package, rather that it's not a worse package either. It's easy to go fast in a turbo, just screw boost into it and away you go. It's a lot more challenging, and you learn a lot more, trying to do the same in an NA.

NA's are underappreciated, mainly due to the ragging given to them by the turbo boys addicted to BOV noise and neck snapping boost transition. In reality, they're not as bad as the reputation would suggest. Sure, they're no GTR, but then again, a GTST is hardly one either.

and for the record, yes i've never driven a turbo, but i love in the middle of the great ocean road and the otway ranges, so the screaming six and twisty roads are more than enough fun for me.

*puts on flame retardant suit*

yeh i mean NA's aren't so bad...the old skool gtr's were NA ...but when you consider the availability of gtsts now, cheaper prices as well as a extensive range of off the shelf parts for modifying u cannot go wrong. theres not a great deal of ability to adjust power in a NA 6 unless your paying large amounts of coin.

point being, owning a non turbo skyline has a lot of restrictions to the skyline modifying enthusiast. sure if you are after a daily and just like to cruise along by all means the na is better not to mention slightly better fuel economy.

but you also said it yourself man...you haven't driven a turbo...

and trust me...if you drove a turbo skyline...you'll never want to go back

If it's non turbo its a RB25DE

If your on your p's you'll get ALOT of cop attention. I'm on my ps and a dickhead cop stopped me at a booze bus and said i can;t drive my NA 34 coz its too powerful, the idiot gave me a fine and took 3 points so i had to go get a dyno done on it to say its under power:weight ratio and what not, so i got the dyno sheet in the glove box just incase it happens again, got the fine squashed and points back though.

Um if your a p-plater (depending when you got your p's) you can't have a turbo

u mean RB20DT??? lol RB25DE's are on r33's

I think I've seen this one around near my parents place... ...Can't be 100% sure if it was a woman driving it...

Well the person selling it, her name is Tricia. LOL!

Oh gee those chrome wheels = GTFO!

Well PPL, ;)

I have put a deposit down on it and i checked everything on the checklist and it passed,

Drove really well and YES FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHO WANTS THESE CHROMIES???? :(

Cheers to all

Pics will be uploaded in the next week

nice mate, you wont regret buying a skyline

just dont be a dickhead or anything because the cops give them ALOT of attention. If i was you one of the first things i'd do is go to vicroads and get their list of banned cars for p-platers and keep it in your glovebox just incase a cop trys to tell you that you cant drive it, like what happened to me, the flamin mongrel wouldnt let me even drive home

you havent lived man, dont go telling me its more of a challenge with N/A. If you start trying to mod a N/A your ganna get to the point of being like 'Time to put on a turbo' :)

and drftking its not really worth putting a rb26dett or rb25det in, when the times for you to be off your Ps, if you still have it, sell it for something better.

WD on the car though, goodluck with it!!

You're right in that sense that there is a point, but my contention was that going straight for a turbo and winding the boost up as far as you can go is naive. And that there's a lot of fun to be had from an NA, and you learn a lot more as a driver from taking a lower powered car as fast as it can go, rather than curing a lack of ability with a surplus of power.

If you want to debate NA v Turbo, PM Eug. He'll give you a full list of FI cars he's beaten around the track in his NA.
