sup all i got into a big discussion with my mate which i obviously won how manual is beta den tiptronic but since i do not know enuff on da subject could some1 please lay down the facts about which one is better in performance etc thanks all -as i once read automatics are for the hairdressers :uh-huh:

Does anyone remember the old Hondamatic from the 70's and 80's? It was an automatic gearbox, but you had to shift the gears manually. The absolute worst of both worlds! Those newer consumer tiptronics are in a similar league, though I think a lot of them have a full auto option at least (like the Magna).

My NSX is tiptronic and I would have to say that a manual is far superior. I have also driven a number of other tiptronic cars and the thing I have found in all of them is you actually get better performance out of them in normal "auto" mode than you do in tiptronic - which is dumb. The ONLY good thing about a tiptronic car IMO is when you are in crappy traffic - then you can put it into auto for all the stop starting.
