**** it man.

These people are obviously pricks. And **** your insurance company too. In the past my insurance company has recorded my not at fault accidents and it's backfired on me. Best to not report it at all.

Time to get nasty. Talk to your lawyer. Sue these bumholes for full cost + inconvenience. I get upset by their intention to make it 50/50 when it clearly was not your fault. It is obvious that the impact speed was something high too! (40+)

T.

if im not mistaken, servo's have videocams actively filming the pumps incase you do not run away frm paying the bill...=).

in dat event, they should actually have a record your car there and it being smashed in by that *uc*.

nevertheless, consult insurance specialist lawyers, they will work for no fee...not directly of course.

no fee meaning if they see you have a strong case, n yr insurance doesnt wanna pay, they will take on your case for no fee...if they win, they get 30% of damages or something and if they dont win, nthin...

i guess its better than havin to pay for e repairs 50/50. if ure gonna haf to pay might as well go all arms lenght out to get yr money back...

n ud think we paid the premium for a reason...dang..;P

if your after a bonnet , dont get carbon fibre unless legalities there differ from nsw ones which i doubt , if your intrested i can most prob source u out a alloy one ( GTR ), goodluck with it man

pm me if your intrested

All is good, my Insurance Co has waived all excess etc, and the car is being fixed atm.

Cams at the servo were not filming at the time of the impact, BUT I have the consloe operator as a witness and another independent witness so my insurance co had no way accuse me of any portion of fault!

I should be back on the road on Friday, just in time for a dyno day in Brisbane!!! But knowing my luck, it will be another week...

    • We just disconnected the vacuum line if I remember correctly, booster is still there. Is there a rebuild solution for the booster or a different adapter that will work for GTR chassis?
    • Yeah 4wd (boosted) has a recess in the firewall for the booster, and 2wd is flat - the example in the link shows the flat surface. When you deleted the booster, did you just attach the factory slave cylinder directly to the recess in the firewall with no adaption?
    • Yes, but no. You need to keep the mating surfaces bare (ie the flat faces where the caliper and upright pads touch the dogbone) and also the internal threads will remain bare (unless there are no internal threads - do they use nuts on all the bolts?). So you can slow down obvious external corrosion, but not all of it. Anodising would be required to provide decent protection to the alloy, but I'm not actually sure if you should anodise something that is all about the strength. Anodising does reduce strength significantly. Like, up to 50% on some alloys for high thickness coating.
    • Thanks   does painting on aluminium work or stop them from corroding?
    • 'Sgot nothing to do with them being Japanese. The climate in the north of Japan has similarities to the UK - the cars are made in the knowledge that they have snow and salt, and they rot there. Cars made in the US rot like buggery in the US. British cars have always rotted regardless of the weather. They will rot indoors in a climate controlled bubble! The brackets are not unsafe yet, but they will get that way. They may well corrode where the bolt threads are in contact and the bolts could just jump out without warning.
