I own an Automatic 2002 Peugeot 206. For the last few weeks I've been having some serious engine trouble. About 2 weeks ago, on the way home.. when I stopped at lights or a giveway section the engine would cut out. I would have to put the car in park, handbrake. And then turn the ignition again. I took it in for a service about a week ago. My dealership installed a new throttle response system which they said should solve the problem. For the last couple of days, all was running well. However, last night on the way home my engine cut about 20 times within a 15 minute drive. Incredibly frustrating considering I just spent $800 earlier this week.

For many reasons I've begun to not trust the judgment, knowledge or the workmenship of my crappy dealer. I was wondering if anyone had knowledge of what my problem would be here? I just can't keep spending this amount of money with no results.

Any advice whatsoever would be terrific, considering I'm taking the car back there blindly tomorrow.

Really appreciated.

Thanks

EDIT: This may belong in another section? I'm not too sure

Do any ECM lights come on? Does it bounce the idle then die? How does the engine die? Distributor problems spring to mind, coils, injectors, leads, all sorts of things mate :( Shoudn't be Mr.ecu that early in the life of the car but it might...

most possibly the ecu we have had some at my work with ecu problems cars have changed its not like it was yrs ago now the ecu controls everything even the seat belt restrainers for the air bag its f*ked i miss the carby lol.

sell it, its a Peugeot outside of warrenty, its only gonna get worse...

if it cuts out when you back off from the throttle (ie slowing down at a set of lights), and its dies cleanly (ie no spluttering etc) i would think something like the idle speed controller maybe playing funny buggers.
