Hi Guys

Just bought some NGK iridium plugs for my series 1. The link to the guide for changing plugs in the Maintenance sticky does not work any longer. Can someone pls point me in the right direction for a step-by-step guide? i.e. what parts need to be removed to get to the plugs etc and anything to keep an eye out for? The attendant said these plugs are pre gapped and I dont need to worry about gapping them. Im running only about 5 PSI if that makes a difference.

Cheers

1. Remove the intake pipe that goes accross the top of your engine and all the vacuum lines that connect to it.

2. Remove the coilpack cover in between the rocker covers.

3. Unclip the coilpack loom from each coilpack and put it aside.

4. Remove the coilpacks either by uncwrewing each one seperately or by undoing the bolts holding the brackets underneath the coilpacks.

5. Use a spark plug remover on a ratchet to unscrew the plugs and repace with your new pre-gapped plugs. They will be hot if you have been driving.

6. Now work back up the steps and attach everything in the same way you removed it.

Hope that helps. Its really easy just dont be afraid to get in there and do it yourself

from experience, it's easier to unbolt the bracket holding the coilpacks in, but make sure not to overtighten it when putting it back on like I did, snapping the head off one of the bolts in the process

I also don't bother to take the entire coilpack harness off, there's plenty of room to work around it.

Hey i just noticed for step 4 im missing the male end of that plug? is that a serious problem? and what is that plug for?

STRESSING out!

I think that is actually a S2, since yours is a S1 you will have an ignitor (i think thats what its called) pack mounted there that the wires plug into.
