Rb25 Box Against Genuine Vl Turbo Box

well as tittle says.. are the 25 box's and VL TURBO box the same.... many ppl have to me they are many have said they dont know.

hit me with what you know before i buy this vl turbo box

Non turbo vl 5 speed is the nissan MF5 5 speed box. (RB20's, rb30's etc).

Vl turbo had the 'heavy duty' nissan MX7 5 speed box.(300zx, GTR, r33 GTS-t etc)

V8's had the borg warner T5 gbox.

So in short, yes they are the same apart from a few little things that I've searched.

Overdrive (5th) may be a little taller, and the r33 had twin syncro rings on 1st and second gear as opposed to single on the VLT box.

So do they bolt up to the clutch/flywheel and also the driveshaft? Are they the same length?

first of all the gearbox does not bolt up to clutch/flywheel... and they same length but the yoke is different so you gotta get the bigger yoke welded onto your tailshaft

and the fact the VL box is 20 years old now, the extra years/wear tear etc plays a part if it was compared against a box 6-9 years newer
