OK guys, this is probably a stupid thread, but Im sure many people will have been in the same place so can understand me on this one...

Its been over 4 months, somewhere between 13 and 15 grand, and so many late nights and long weekends, but my skyline lives again :P

I bought it in october, had the gearbox out in early november to replace the clutch and flywheel, blew a rear turbo in january, and popped the engine in april...

Its alive again though... with new engine, new turbos, new hoses, and a few painted covers and the power fc will be installed and tuned in the next week or two, along with the fuel pump, injectors, and boost controller.... ABOUT TIME!!!

What do you think???

I'll give a power figure once the power fc is in and tuned...

HKS GTSS turbos

Custom (EXPENSIVE) oil and coolant lines

Exhaust manifolds opened up

Sard 700cc injectors

Tomei fuel pump

Tomei 260 cams with standard gears

unknown bigger cooler

HKS pod filters

Nismo NE1 exhaust with twin cats

exedy lightened flywheel and cushion button clutch

Nismo plugs

Greddy Profec B spec 2 boost controller

Hoping for a shade over 300kW but the response is awesome all through the rev range

If I could afford texi I would... but I got over 2 grand in rego coming up in early october and my 12 grand savings that I had 2 months ago, quickly became just enough for a power fc tune and petrol to get me to work and back till I earn more... and Im gonna have to borrow cash for rego as it is

Thanks guys, the smile goes from ear to ear... pretty ugly sight actually

No man this is not stupid thread, All of your hard earned cash is melting away and it doesn't take long with GTR but now that you know whats done it must feeel good when you first fired it up after so long.

I've just picked mine up yesterday after 5 wks at panel shop getting rust cleaned up (6K later) but I'm happy knowing she's clean.

Good on ya :P and now that it's all good mechanicaly how's your body so to speak did you check all the usual spots inner guards, floor etc..?

Good luck :D

Dave

Hey guys, found out today that unigroup is booked out till the 23rd of september so I'll be waiting 3 weeks before a dyno sheet is attached to this.... oh well

Drove it to work today.... I never realised how much I missed it till I gave it a hit down the F3... thats made the whole thing worth it

Congratulations to everyone who has rebuilt or replaced anything in their skyline in the past, or even in the future... they aren't exactly the easiest thing to fix, but when they're going... they're awesome

It's good to share.

I remember back in the day... (this is the part where you all tune out)... I blew the gearbox then the turbo then the engine all in a fairly short space of time. It stings but afterwards makes you so happy when it's running right.

Those GT-SS's are so responsive, they make a GTR seem almost N/A. You should love 'em.
