Rito, got defunkted by the boys in blue the other day, have to whip all the boost controller gear out before the inspection, wondering if anyone has a pic of how the vacuum lines for the wastegate actuator, BOV etc hook up on a stock S2 33?

Also, did a timing belt on the rig the other day, and got the stock 'new timing belt' whine, but when it gets hot, it gets a terrible whine up. Did it a bit before hand but is worse now, sounds like its coming from the CAS area, anyone had problems with them being a bit noisy?

Well me and my best mate are both mechanic's, so we did it how we would do any other car, bout quarter of a turn in the belt with the tension on.

It's just a bit queer, how it does it more when it's hot, AND it did it before we did the belt, just not quite as bad.

One way to check is to spray some CRC or maybe something heavier in it and see if it makes a difference to the sound, it would be worn from the belt pressure, so up/down side to side.

Yeah, thought about spraying a bit of gear on it and see if it'll shut it up. Might try it tomorrow night when I'm down at work jacking the rig up a bit. Will let ya know how I get on. Just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar problem.

My belt whines once the car is up to operating temperature. I have re-tensioned once and changed timing belts without luck. I have been wondering if it is a cam bearing. I also thought it may be the cam gear I'm using but can't confirm that unless I tried another one.

I have put a screw driver to my ear and placed it on different areas to see where the noise is coming from. It seems to be at the ex cam gear and inline with the belt. I may swap cam gears soon and try a different timing belt. Can check all cam bearings while at it and change cam seals etc too.

The noise could be worse due to a lower rpm once the car warms up, creating a bad harmonic. Belt noise can be caused by tensioning a belt too much or too little. It could also be heat/ expansion effecting a bearing.
