Running Splits Through A Kenwood Head Unit

Under powering wont do any damage.

Damage can only be caused if you try to drive the head unit too far and it starts clipping. Basically if it starts to sound like shit and distorted, you're pushing them too hard and back it up a bit.

I'd very strongly advise you to get an amplifier. There's really no point having splits if you don't run them properly. They won't output to even a fraction of their potential both in quality or volume. Do yourself a favour and grab an amp. Even a cheap one will be far better than running them from the headunit.

I ran my first pair of Alpine splits off a Pioneer deck, until i could afford the amp. It didnt sound good at all off the deck, quiet and weak.
