Hello

This is in regards to queensland law.

I have a 1983 Mitsubishi Scorpian and found it doesn't have a compliance plate, it did have one previously but I don't know what the previous owner, owner before that did with it. I'm wondering how I can get a compliance plate or what I need to do in order so that I can get it registered, spoke to Queensland Transport and I'm just getting run around in a loop of rebound. I was hoping someone would know what the current situation with this is.

Still got the receipt of purchase?

Take it to the police station and they should arrange a surrogate vin number for it. If the vehicle has been previously registered then it should just be a quick check for the police using current vin number.

Shouldnt be too much of a hassle, but yeh, pretty sure a new vin is required from police, then to an engineer to get new vin stamped on car. (this is all from memory and has been quite a while since I've needed to know this info lol)
