Marko R1
hi guys, i have noticed on my passenger side kick panel 2 large diameter plastic circlips which are about 30mm in diameter, i came across a pic on this forum where it actually holds an orange canister in place...can anyone tell me what this is for? i wouldn't mind getting 1 of these, probably rendered useless but im the type where i dont like anything missing on my car regards. dilmah
It normally holds an emergency flare. I guess the japs use it if you break down in a bad place in the night you set it off and place it on the road a little bit up the road so ppl can slow down. normally removed as part of the compliance process cos they're illegal here or something. (i.e. fireworks and stuff...) I had one in my car cos it was complied ages ago or cos they forgot or whatever, but it kept falling out, so it's just sitting in the garage now. probably wont work anyway cos it's like 15 years old... __PhaseShiftDown
lol... it holds the emergency flare. When I bought my car, the original flare was still there. It says on it in japanese instructions on how to use the flare and best before 2002. So I put it away and put a torch in those circular clips instead. :-) I was so tempted to try it out.. You want to buy it off me? .. hehehhee Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/235155-passenger-kick-panel-on-r32gtr/#findComment-4117763 Share on other sites

babyskyline
I had one in my 32 when i came from japan. Said best before date was around 2003. A mate set it off from a distance to see what would happen and it was pretty dangerous. For me i would rather not have it in the car at all Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/235155-passenger-kick-panel-on-r32gtr/#findComment-4119213 Share on other sites
