nengun has them for the HKS GTRS for:11004-AN008To Suit ECR33 RB25DET S1 & S2 93/9-98/5AU $ 2,467.65

Anyone know of anyone who could beat that price?

Thats the price excluding delivery. Because of the bad exchange rate its going to be 2760 delivered. When last month it was 2400 delivered. You have to sign up to nengun to get postage costs.

PM Slide, i think he can do the HKS GTRS kit a bit cheaper.

Honestly don't worry about "if the turbo fails its going to blow the engine" because it isn't!

It is very, very rare for parts of the exhaust wheel to go upwards into the exhaust manifold and into a valve. Most of the time the exhaust wheel and shaft end up in your cat. If your unlucky enough the compressor wheel will let go and end up in an intercooler. For some of those parts to get through into your engine is rare so honestly if you don't actually want an upgrade because you want more power, only due to you being worried, then just leave the turbo as it is.

Turbo upgrades blow $5000+ easily out of your wallet when you include:

turbo $1000-$2500

ecu $1000-$1500

Z32 AFM $200 (if not MAP sensored)

fuel pump $200-$300

injectors $600

clutch $500-$1000

splitfire coilpacks $450

tune $400-$600

intercooler/exhaust/silcone/etc etc

Labour if you aren't doing anything yourself... $1000-$1500

It all adds up man. Now whats better, leaving the car as it is, or spending that much money just to make sure the turbo doesn't let go.... Your call.

Very true indeed... Only upgrade it if you really need or want the extra power. If its just an excuse for your mrs then just keep her away from this thread :ninja:

for a cheaper option go a gcg highflow and keep total output to 230rwkw and you should get away with stock injectors, afm and fuel pump

Thanks for all the replys, very much appreicated!

I always had the intention of doing injectors, fuel pump and airflow meter anyway.

Im really interested in the HKS GT-RS bolt on kit, initially was turned off by the Just Jap Price of $3800, but when i realised nungun and slide where doing them for a grand cheaper, it has sparked my interest!

New Question for the day. Do the 300zx T/T stock injectors (430cc/min) fit the rb25det?

or is it the same story as the gtr injectors top v's side feed?

2nd Question for the day. Would the Greddy Emanage Blue be a satisfactory piggyback ECU to run my desired tune/setup outline in first post?

Cheers.

Jason

The e manage can handle those power levels quite well afaik...

Greddy run them on plenty of their highly modifyed demo cars

also make sure you look at the hks 2835 pro s kit. Its a thousand schmux more but it makes an easy 260 to 280rwkw depending on supporting mods and tune.

I'm running mine in conjunction with an ex cam gear and have 265rwkw but spooling up as early as the gtrs. It also makes 245 on a lazy 1 bar with full boost by around 3500 and without having to run at its limits

    • It doesn't really answer your question...but is the head unit full android or just android auto, are you happy with how quickly it boots and responds, and do you have a link?  If we can identify good Android alternatives it will really help people stuck with Japanese screens. Did it have a separate reverse camera input so you would replace the factory one, or are you just going without now...that would be a pretty big steps back. And finally, do you have a picture of the "wire" that you can't plug in? Most likely it is some sort of aerial that is not too important eg japanese traffic or am radio or something if you haven't noticed a functionality issue
    • haha funny enough I did ask him wtf he had been up to with the electrics....but no answer
    • For a daily just run Akebono ceramic pads. That's what they're optimized for. Obviously don't try to run it on track or anything like that.
    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
