A friend of mine recently bought a 1999 R34 GTT manual coupe, he insured it with NRMA and they said the market value for his vehicle is between $13k to $17k, the model he said he insured it under is called by NRMA a "Nissan Skyline GTS" but he made sure it is indeed a 2.5L turbo model. THe value he insured it for is $17k

Is it me or is that a bit low market value for them considering even the Redbook has it a fair bit higher.

I worked at NRMA for around 6 years so im happy to help with that question:)

the market value means no set value

and he will get what they deem the market value at the time of loss.

so its a case of wait and see

i have my 1987 corrola insured with nrma coz i dont really care how much it is worth

but my gtr is with just cars for an agreed value

me too

agreed value with justcars

my R33 is insured for way more than what i could get if i sold it today. they base their premiums on the type of car, where its parked and driver record. i increased my agreed value by 5 thousand dollars and my premium didnt change at all.

^^^ +1

The same!

You can ask them first if any modifications will affect the premium.

Traffic violations affect the premium too - especially loss of licence in the past 5 years.

Where you live, high risk areas affect the premium.

And with some companies, even a bodykit can affect the premium lol.

Then again, you could have added some mods later on after the premium has been paid eh? Need to tell them though.

Stereotype: Grey Imports attract Grey Insurance! :P

mate justcars allow for unlimited mods.

and you can reduce your preimum even further with justcars ad-just excess

increase your excess and pay a lower premium

jesus that sounded a bit like an ad

ring justcars today

which is the reason i left the industry due to screwing honest guys over for little things like a blow off valve that was not listed ............... no shit

just cars are a great insurer that allow mods "if you list them"
