Thanks. CSC 365mm with 6 piston caliper don't fit. I took a rim there and trial fitted. Not enough internal diameter. I know their 355mm kit fits. I know 365mm Alcon fit. I've got the Stoptech templates, but the cutting out of the peice of paper seems a crude way of measuring things.....It's down to CSC or Stoptech for me, so want to know the STs will fit. I've got a lazer measurer so I'll grab a wheel off this weekend and check out the internal diameter and then match that off against the radius info on the ST website. This can't answer the question of lateral clearance, but I'll have to trust the paper tempate for that.

Trouble with ST is there are no people with actual experience with them and GTRs (that I can find).

Still trying to solve the BMC size issue with the STs. Any ideas?

PM BB GTR. He runs the CSC on his R32 GTR with CSC and i would have sworn he was running the 365mm rotor inside his old R34 GTR rims. Perhaps the one they trial fitted to your wheel was off another model car and the rotor hat offset a little different. Though check with BBGTR, but surprised to read that their 365 kit doesnt fit inside the R34 wheel

The cut out method is actually pretty good. Just glue/stick the paper cutout to a bit of cardboard & run it around. There is an old thread somehere with a few brake clearance sheets on its & ID's for rims. Maybe add some of whatever you find to that because ensuring callipers clear rotors can be a pain the arse.

Ant was kind enough to help me out by checking the AP clearance against an 18" Volk rim. The rotor was a 343 by the way.

Yeah, I've spoken to Andrew and his is a 355mm I'm pretty sure. He even sent me an image.

    • I definitely agree with you there - I never click on content for cars I would never ever be able to get or compete with/against/be seen next to. Seeing a MX5 compete with a FD RX7 will make people upset though, for sure. Even in 2.5L Turbo form which is pretty grass roots. (or at least as grass roots as classic cars can be) Yes we're all classic car owners now.
    • Wonder what the cause is, but here's hoping it's nothing too serious.
    • People don't always want builds that are overly expensive, or have engineering/registration/insurance issues and head aches that come with them Whilst big dollar builds, and complicated stuff is interesting to watch, there is only a tiny % of people who would actually use this information, or have the spare finances to drop on said builds, whereas the buy a cheap(ish) cool car, and make it better, with a average budget, that the average Joe or Jane could achieve will always be a winner in my opinion
    • Bit of a thread revival, you mentioned wanting a bit more top end before, do you regret not going with the 1.01?
    • It's kind of interesting - They definitely do builds that split the difference between what they like and what will generate views and engagement. The NC Platform always surprises everyone in a good way, in an uncomfortably good way some may say. They could throw a LS in there and arguably have the best (and best performing) car of the entire stable. But that isn't necessarily what draws views, because people viewing don't want to accept the vegetables of a LS NC MX5 being a superior vehicle in every way (including fun) than a RB26 240Z. This is also why there's not a lot of content about the GR Yaris (on the web in general). They're too good, yet 'only a Yaris' The community doesn't want certain cars to be as good as they are - to beat their hero cars, and I believe the NC MX5 is absolutely one of those cars.
