Hi guys,

I'm in need of some help. I have a small job for an auto trimmer. I have 2 race seats and I want small suede patches attached to the high wear areas (just like many newer race seats like my cobra evolution now come with standard). On the surface it doesn't seem hard, but I imagine it will actually be a little tricky as the race seat cover fabric is usually quite weak meaning it's not easy to stitch stuff to it, usually means some kind of stick on patch, or put stronger fabric underneath and stitch through the lot. These are very nice seats. Carbon Kevlar recaro's so the job must be done nicely.

Anyway, please reccomend anywhere you know of, or even better somewhere you've had work done. I live in inner city sydeny so somewhere close to their would be ideal. :P thanks.

Rich, a mate at works old man, has had his vintage Merc done by a group here in Syd, but can't remember the name right now. I'll find out tomorrow. He was very very happy with the work.

Not on the cheap side, but in his restoration went to the trouble of specifically sourcing the exact leather texture of the original seats for the restoration, from Germany.

barry hopkins motor trimming in artarmon... hotham pde

when i worked for honda we use to send brand new type r integra seats there to get built as they came from the factory in like 20 peices and they built them!

roger that. I will see how they turn out.

the east bear seat in my silvia is fked and I don't want this to happen to the recaros in the 7 (new covers for them are $900 for some reason, even though normal recaro covers are about $200). my cobra has nice little patches or leather or something in the high wear areas and that's what I want for the 7.

if you have a regular, recaro/velo/cobra or whatever it's probably worth buying a new genuine cover. the only reason I can't for the 7 is that those seats were specially made for mazda so recaro wont retail covers for them, you have to buy from mazda. but normal recaro fixed seat covers are quite affordable.

Here you go Rich,

this is the group my mates dad uses. Was talking to him today and they absolutely rapped with the work. He said they can at times take a bit longer, but never had an issue with quality.

Carlton is about 2 mins from my place

Ive been in there before, rates seemed very reasonable and the level of work is awesome (they had the shop full of customer cars when i was there)

Once i get my 32 back im going to get the seats retrimmed by those guys
