hey guys.... a bit of an emotional post..haha jk.. its been long and awaiting but im slowly starting to notice that my r33 baby is gettin rather old... i mean... from 93 to 08.. although engine wise my car is sound (of course)...but in terms of your general car im noticing that my baby is getting old... rattles are appearing, body kit is starting to go again and just the little htings that add up like the lights behind your dash... and what i wanna know is that i know there are people out there that have experienced this... and wondering do you go and do another fix up on all your stuff... or are they gettin a bit old and should move on..... (personally thats my last option) but ultimately out of this the aim is for the best car :D:( ....... so for those who have gone through this.. i would like to know your problems that you encounter and how you have gone about fixing these... yourself??.. a garage??.. or is there some magic place that will just bring the car out feeling and looking brand new (hahah)..... so yeah... pretty open post but just an intersting topic to me

thanx guys

I kind of have that feeling coming from a 06 XR6 to a 98 r33 GTS-t sometimes it just feels quite old but i couldnt bring myself to get rid of it as it is just so advanced compared to most other cars like my XR6 which was a POS.

With these little problems like the lights i wouldnt imagine it needed to be taken to a work shop just a few weekends in the your own garage with some idea of what your doing.

if you maintain it and replace parts properly the first time you can almost keep in as new condition but yeah everything gets old, you cant fight time itself. Its a personal judgment, if your over it move on but the time will come when the new car will start to get old too. I guess its a test to see how much you love your car...lol

Maybe ive been lucky with my car and in the 8 yrs ive had it the only major thing to die was power window motor and the battery. the 100k service replaced alot of what needed to be replaced including exhaust manifold studs and the clutch. I get a good feeling fixing things that i can fix on my car, kinda makes it just a bit newer in my mind..ha

I guess the one think that makes me feel the car is old is seeing so many of them on the road and how cheap they are compared to 8 yrs ago.

yeah you keep updating as you go. the car may be old but thebeauty of tuning/modding is that your car will always excite you and there's always something new you can do to it. from interior, to exterior, to engine, to brakes and so on

i went from an 01 lancer with under 80000k's to a 94 r33 with nearly 190000k's.

lol i felt like the car was old wen i first hopped in. but i love it. too good to sell. im just saving to try and do a complete rebuild. everything gettin replaced. well not exactly everythin but u no wat i mean

i went from a 79 ford escort to my 96 gts-t

feels like a brand new car!! it almost is... im the first aus owner!! japs must of looked after it well!

EVERYTHING is mint on it! only prob with it atm is one half of lights in the original cd player has gone out! but will soon be replacing it!!

i think if you fix things as they go it makes it HEAPS more easier in the long run!! otherwise things just build up on ya.. then it feels like it aint worth it

When from a 89 commo to my 95 r33...

I love my car... Every little little mistake it has... I fix it, or get it fixed... My car currently has a rattle that sounds like a loose screw on the inside and on the way home tonight I was thinking... "Jeezee my car is old". Then reading everyones replies here makes me want to go out there and find this damn rattle hehe...

Our cars are old... but I tell you, EVERYONE thinks its a brand new car :|

went from 2002 kia rio with 130,000km (hard life) to a 96 r33 gts-t with aparrently 66k on the clock, but in all fairness the skyline is allot bettr condition, all the electricals work, no probs other than general maintenance like a clutch, 02 sensor, spark plugs, the turbo-dump pipe bolt that i snapped today...... the kia has had stalling probs, brake caliper that was stuck on, changed the wheel bearings at 70k but needed it at 50k, light bulbs blown allot includeing the cabin...... so a 96 nissan is better than an 02 kia... i couldnt be happier

try going from an 06 ssz with 30,000kms on it with mild engine work and slammed on 20's to a 33 Gtr vspec with 18's...........Worth it??? :P ..................Hell Yeah!!! :thanks::laugh:

I own modified 34 & 62 Fords. my nissan feels absolutely futuristic in comparison...but that doesn't make me love the old girls any less :thanks: Too much comfort can detract from the experience in some cases.

well i own a 93 r33 gtst my second car and have had it for 7 months now. my 1st car was a swift gti and this car feels way better. but yea lately i have been realising all the squeaks and rattles etc. car looks great from the outside but the little things that make it feel old does make me want something newer. my sister recently bought a r34 and u can really tell that that car is newer so much smoother and quieter. i guess you have to choose what it is that you want because theres noway i could afford something as fast as the skyline that is new eg 2000 onwards.

"...they do not grow old, just as we who are left grow old

...nor the years condemn

...at the going down of the sun, we will remember them (R33s)"

No I don't want to grow old!!!! WAAAH!!! WAAAH!!! :(

Ooooooh Look! FASTIDIOUS OWNER!!!

HE'S TAKING ME HOOOOOOME!!! :P

My previous ride being a 87 VL Commodore NA my 93' R33 with possibly 53 000 kms feels like a new car in most respects and is in way better condition than my Dad's 93 Pajero workhorse. There is some clear coat peeling on the rear bumper so I'll have the whole bumper resprayed at some stage. Soon I'll be having the timing belt replaced as its a bit noisy but apart from that I'm thrilled with the car and will have it for many years into the future with regular servicing and TLC. I often look at newer car models and think "Hmm nah I'd rather have my Skyline" :(

rattling sounds, broken dash lights, sagging bodykit.

Lucky you dont have a r32 as these are the norm haha

Im so used to it, when i jump into a newer car its too quiet for me

If everyone paid attention for any new srattles in their car, im sure there would be more alert people on the roads :D

My two cents.....

Yer somedays i feel like my 93 R33 with just under 90,000 on the clock (1st aus owner for 2 and a bit years and barely drive it) is getting old but then i look at all the gear it had standard and it is only just showing it self in other cars in that past what 5 or so years. The missus thinks i am nuts but i am actually thinking of going down to a R32 (she wants me to get a 34). But i tell you skylines will never go out, they are too good of a car.

Long live the Nissan Skyline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what sorta k's has everyone got on their rides these days?? i know basically every import is wound back.. i mean its so easy to do!!!!... bt i look at my old puppy wsith 177,000 clicks on her (keeping in mind a 90.000click new engine) and just want it to be back at around 40,000

had mine imported at 76000k's 2 years ago, now its just ticked over 100k's. Its parked at home everyday, only driven in the weekends :)

Its all up to how you look after it really.

I dont think i will ever sell my 33. i love it to bits.
