Brad, Favour - can you please message me first meet point :) As i have to meet sister in law in City at 11 to show her the bridesmaids shoes so im going to be about 30mins late.

Done...but just this once :D

It will go on regardless....probably rain in parts but "shouldn't" be too heavy, doesn't look as bad in the sky as it did last week. Thanks, more from Jeff Newman tomorrow.

yeah, pretty shit turn of events at the lights in Perth. Just Car is not open, so I will call tomorrow and hopefully my Fully Comp will cover all 3 cars. $600 excess. At leas the woman in the Hyundai wasn't a total bitch about it. Funny when Donovan said "is that your mum in the car, is she ok?" :D:)

Sorry about all that Donovan and others behind. :)

Just got back from dons house.

amazed to see the dmg his car sustained compared to the r32 gtr rear end... GTR's are made tough eh.

hopefully it all works out... i couldnt make this cruise due to meeting...

hope it all works out eh...

Awww sorry ot those that had their cars damaged. Hope it all sorts itself out.

I went to the second meet point and had fun from there on in - was a good cruise - little 'trafficky' in parts but that can't be helped sometimes. Glad i made the effort :(

that was a great cruise for most people. Don called me and told me what happened; I couldn't believe it. I was going to come back and help but I was told to keep going.

For the R33s, I have my stock front bumper someone can borrow until their car is back on the road. It's silver, buts better then nothing. Oherwise someone can buy it for $150!!

Other then that I really enjoyed it. I wanted to talk to a few more people, but my passengers were being unsociable.

:( guys. Hope everything works out ok. That was at the Mount St ?.

On an upbeat note, it was good to meet some new people and thanks to the Silvia guys and gals for the company. Good cruise...Canning Rd was definitely the highlight as usual, thanks for the company Dan...I'm tired, time for a margarita then a lie down.

Sorry to hear about the accident in the city :( Only when we got to Gateways I heard about it, and one guy mentioned a gunmetal gtr was one, a wine red 33 was another (some people thought it was me). Then I noticed Tom wasn't there & had a feeling it was him. That must have happened just behind me, I'd overtaken Tom in the tunnel & you wouldn't have been that far back. Again sorry to hear and hopefully they get fixed quickly.

That aside....it was a long day & after a wet start the weather turned good so even though we lost a lot of cars throughout we still had about 30 at the end. A long cruise, with the exception of the above & the dumbarse who decided it would be a good idea to park their car just around a blind corner on zig zag rd instead of pulling off to the side 5m away, was pretty event free!

Thanks to everyone who came out from both clubs :(

I broke my $380 carbon radiator shroud :(

Glad the cruise was good otherwise, Don called me and said with damage over $1000 a police report needs to be made so I'll be visiting my local cop shop tomorrow I think.

    • Realized I haven't been back here in a while. Still here, still alive, still waiting for the car.  I went back again the only time last year from Oct-Nov for R's Meeting and drove it around some more, including a few laps on Fuji Speedway(in the wet, sadly). The car still feels good, but have a couple small things to address. I've been getting more parts but have slowed down still, and most of the bigger purchases are now out of the way. I find myself getting impatient more and more when it comes to getting started on this project; it's quite hard for me not being able to really dive in and start making this car my own because it's halfway across the world. At times it doesn't even really feel like I own one of these. Haven't really been motivated or had the desire to document the last trip on here or social media for, well, reasons... but here's some pics...it's also still alive and well as you can see: I've narrowed down to the last large part purchases(anything over $2k) before the engine build to be: 1) Ohlins Road & Tracks 2) ATS Twin Carbon clutch 3) Endless BBK with some custom options and 4) Kansai Service carbon driveshaft I don't think the budget exists for all of these this year, but I'll try for one or two items I think. Though, every time I look at my spreadsheet I sigh, shake my head, and get depressed just that little bit more.  'til later.
    • It's a stunning location!  I've been to NZ twice but haven't made it to the North Island yet.  Definitely on the cards but the South Island is hard to tear yourself away from too... Looking forward to see what you can wring out of it once you can get it to hold together!  Be awesome to get a low 11 or even sneaking into the high 10's pass out of it.  That's a bloody quick car that most people will never experience in their life.  Enjoy!
    • Nominally yes but I’m not really at that stage yet. Outsourcing to Japan is also a relatively good deal at the moment because their currency has devalued much more against the USD.  You would assume this but a lot has changed from the pandemic. Mechanics are in short supply and demand for fixing old cars has gone up from the cost of new cars. 250-300 USD/hr is not an unusual shop labor rate in California and you’re paying that regardless of whether the guy is competent or not. Coworkers have been quoted 3000 USD for a water pump and thermostat at a dealer on an N54. Oil changes went from ~75 USD to 150 on fairly normal cars like Civics. The cost of the oil and filter hasn’t even kept up with inflation.
    • The downside to that is that the cost of everything, particularly labour, is significantly higher here than it is over there in the Disunited States of Slavery. You can hire 3 tradesmen over there for just the Ranger Raptor allowance of a single 3rd year apprentice over here.
    • Shit. Starting to look like a car again.
