Anyone know if auto paint can be used in other applications? I'm looking at repainting a helmet, and found some appropriate colours on various cars. Only question i have is, if cars need to be low bake ovened when they get resprayed, would you need to do it for other things too, or can you let it air dry?

yep it can be done - heat for curing 2 pak paints isnt that high , just put it in a small room with a heater on

plenty of people have custom brushed helmets in the go-cart scene

yeah just leave it to airdry, it'll dry in about 15 minutes, go soft in about 24 hours ready for a colour sand

Just remember to wear a mask and do it in your garage, if your garage is connected to your house, block up any gaps in the doors, because it sticks to everything and the smell lingers for a few days at least

yep, its carcinogenic so suit up if you are doing it yourself

You can still get automotive paint in acrylic, which is safer to use than 2-pak.
