There are companies that specialise in broken stud removals. They come to you. Search in the phone book. If you wanna do it yourself you will need to get an Ezy out as mentioned. If the stud is seized in there it will be a pain to get out. Plenty of penetrant (WD-40), Ezy out, Centre punch, small drill, etc is what you will need to do the job.

I dont think they charge too much to come and do it for you though. Try Thread tech..

Deren

yeah i decided to either find a 90degree drill and just drill the bastard untill its out and probably stuff the thread and use another nut and bolt instead, or pay the guy who does it for a living $140...... probably end up paying the thread nazi his $140.....

to my surprise he knew what the problem was as soon as i told him its a skyline lol

recons he does atleast one a week

if it was my r33, i would have just forgot about it and done the other ones up.

Because i did, and it was leak free for 2 years, its on the side with 3 bolts, so meh the other side has 2 only

that being said, ive never snapped onein anyone elses car because i would wd40 it early because i remember mine lol. if you still have factory turbo your not really stressing your dump pipe gasket

it didnt leak for about the first 40km, but then i could hear it when i drove next to a wall or in a shopping centre, then it soon became noticable when driving in the open....

also i could only get 4 of the 6 on due to the design of the dump pipe and then was told by the makers of the piece to take it off and evenly bolt it back up.....

then as i was trying to unbolt the dump the bolt snapped at the top, i bolted the remaining 5 up and it was leaking the same as before, probably because it was at the top of the dump pipe and there isnt really a another one that could take over its job.... if you know what i mean??????

oh well i guess its a big learning curve for me

get someone to do it for you. if you snap the easy out you are in a world of trouble

yep +1 for getting someone to do it. i tried using an ezyout and broke it. also replace all the bolts while ur at it :) bolts are 6 bucks each fron nissan!

WD40 is your friend.... always. If your socket won't let you tighten up all the bolts it will leak, even if it's the centre bolt. Use some washers or a spacer to get clearance for your socket if need be.

The dump pipe bolts you should be able to get from any good exhaust shop. I got like 6 or 8 of them for nothing cause I asked nicely.

    • Oh wow, it's easy to forget how cheap these can be. Probably the cheapest way to travel. Though people in cars here tend to be morons and I would not feel very safe. Were scooters ever big in Australia? It used to be the thing growing up in Europe ~20 years ago. 50/70/125ccm Peugeot or Yamaha and some others. Utterly obnoxious Polini race exhausts. Kick stands that slant as much as possible. So loud. So much noise for really not moving very fast at all. But it felt cool at the time. Not sure where I'm going with this, but there is an aftermarket for mopeds! Though I'd have pictured you more for a Goldwing kind of guy after growing out of the Harley.
    • You need to know I am sorry for this.
    • As the MX5 isn't apparently "manly" enough, and I need something for runs to the local shops, and also take to my part time job at the salon, basically I can keep the MX5 away from car parks and stuff......like "flying lockers", I was wondering what I could buy to fix this issue LOL, I pick up a new Yamaha 125 Delight this arvo from Trooper Lu, basically a R1 that you can fit a slab of beer on between your feet, also, it was $29400 cheaper than a R1, so actually it's 2 x better than a R1
    • Nah. H2S. H2S is "rotten egg gas", which is what is associated with no cat. SO2 is equally nasty, and if you've ever smelt it you'll know all about it. More of a choking, acid in the back of the throat sort of thing. But you can only smell it in a narrow range up to about 1ppm. Above that, it irritates your mucous membranes, but you don't smell it.
    • Kicked the 34 in the guts, she won’t be seeing the road till I get the 31 mobile again.  wont be long and she’s a bit of a garage princess anyway haha
