hey champ try checking out the australian site for clarion instead of the malaysian site so u can get a price on it....... clarion have it listed at $799 on their site so $850 form an independant dealer installed is a pretty good price considering most joints tend to add on a little bit extra on top of rrp from the manufacturer may i ask where u got ur quote from???? check out the link attached as it is the australian site and has a price listing of all products in clarions range

cheers for the reply. Got the quote from Car Audio Excellence in Campbelltown. Deal is 750 for the unit, 100 for the install and then he is throwing in the ipod connection cable, which apparently is worth 150. Think i will just give it a go, why not, price seems decent enough.

Cheers,

i hate to ruin ur party.. but ur not really getting a good deal...

i can sell u the unit for 750 as well.. we charge 88 to fit, and the connector comes with the unit... its not something u buy extra...

rofl regardless of if u can sell it to him and fit it for $88 ur in melbourne and it would cost more in petrol to get his ass down there for u to do it than to get it done at campbelltown lolz and the ipod connections are worth between $130 and $150, i had to buy mine for $130 when i got mine done..... and as far as i know the ipod cables do not come with the head units they are a separate purchase item

Ahh well i went and paid the 850 for it. Very happy with the instal and the 3yr warrenty. Unit is pretty decent, i would reccomend it.

Doesnt matter if you could sell it ay, what do you generally sell it at? done deal now, so doesnt matter.

we generally sell it for 799 and it DOES come with ipod cable.. coz well.. i sell them and then fit them.. and the cable is in the box everytime.

we also give 5 year warranty and lifetime on the job :O

    • I haven't....but a poorly made one would terrify me. Surely a good second hand one is the go, as they don't work hard and no-one wants to keep one after they are finished with it A big consideration would be the weight of the shell you are putting on it....is it a fully dressed chassis or just the body
    • Not stock. All remade. Mostly looks stock because the pipes run to and from the standard holes in the inner guard to get to the return flow FMIC. I'm not sure which question you're trying to ask, because it seems like "stock position" vs "stock position".
    • Hey, it's a GT-R, it's just as significant a moment as mine😁 It's not ideal when things are uncertain; I'm the type of person that always has a set plan for things in life so being unsure of this plan puts me in a weird place mentally.
    • Hows your intake piping? Are you still running stock? Having in the stock AFM position would mean, if the BOV was shut/venting out, it'd create the almost stalling kind of effect right // "the rich pulse behaviour" due to MAF thinking air is flowing ? But this would be better than having the bov in the stock position + MAF on/just before cross over piping right?
    • Essentially, yes. Although I wouldn't put the AFM on the crossover pipe. I'd want to put it into what amounts to the correct size tube, which is more easily done in the intercooler pipework. I bought a mount tube for card style AFM that replaces the stock AFM - although being a cheap AliExpress knockoff, it had no flange and I had to make and weld my own. But it is the same length and diameter as the stock RB AFM, goes on my airbox, etc etc. I don't have a sick enough rig to warrant anything different, and the swap will take 5 minutes (when I finally get around to it and the injectors & the dyno tune).
