R33 Timing Set Towards Advanced..

hey guys.

my car didnt get better no matter what i tried, (even took it to a dyno, pulled out 142hp), so i took it to my mechaninc and explained the problem to him, he set the more towards advanced, the car got WAAYY better after that, i just wanted to know, is that gonna be a problem down the longrun by any chance??...if it is, im gonna keep trying to find the problem..

advancing the timing a little bit wont cause any harm its advisable to use a higher octance fuel like 98 but ive got mates who we have advanced the timing and the cars still running sweet. but also depends how much?

i wasnt ther when he had it done, all i was told is that he set it more towards advanced. just a little note tho, the car still lags abit at around 7k rpm or so, just a bit, and the boost is till on 5psi....

As long as your not running massive amounts of timing it will be fine. And yeah higher octane fuel (eg 98) is recommended to stop the engine from pinging if you're running boost.
